Oh good. A spotlight on that record setting long kick at half time. Wonderful.

Watched the highlights for the Ram/Bucs game. Seriously, how do those Ram WRs get so wide open? One dude was wide open in the end zone, I think I've seen that like once in all of Stafford's career in Detroit. Also lots and lots of clean pockets, even on 3rd down.
Not taking anything away from Stafford here. Just thinking - how? How can it look so easy for Stafford in LA, while every pass completion was a chore in Detroit? Is it talent? Coaching? Both?

McVay is just much better as a offensive coordinator than anything the Lions had with Stafford. Stafford had one great receiver in Calvin. But he never had guys who were outstanding route runners. Jones, Tate and Golladay were good receivers but they never got separation. Cooper Kupp is awesome, Goff was much better when Kupp was healthy.

Refs basically gave the 49ers a TD on that drive. But I don't understand why. LaFleur was screaming at them during the halftime break. How could they defy him and his anger like this?
EDIT: Refs missed an obvious helmet to helmet that knocked out Adams. But how? How can the refs not be moved by LaFleur's rage? I mean... it looks like getting angry at the refs does fuck all! But... but... that's UNPOSSIBLE!Last edited by chemiclord; September 26, 2021, 10:02 PM.

I always felt that aside from the lack of talent, Stafford never had good offensive coaching here. Linehan probably got the most out of him. Caldwell/Lombardi/Cooter really stifled him because they wanted to cut down on INTs.
Even with Johnson, I felt like they never exploited him enough. It was like he was just another piece. I know he put up numbers but I never felt like they used him to kill other teams. I feel like Herman Moore was used better in the 90s.
