Hell, Tom Brady makes plays with his feet. When they get to the point that they can't do things like move in the pocket to buy some time or scramble for a few yards when the pocket breaks down, their career is over (see Matt Ryan)
I don’t think anyone is advocating for a run first QB. Dual threat is more accurate.

Josh Allen came into the league run first - look at him now. Us Fields truthers saw someone we thought capable of following a similar trajectory. Particularly when you look at the trash he’s surrounded by.

No QB has more rushing yards then passing yards.

QBs today are more Warren Moon (was he a "running QB?" He sure as h3ll was seen as one) and Steve McNair then Randall Cunningham or Michael Vick. It's slightly a stereotype that needs to die frankly.

Again, you cam flow with your narrative but, No QB has more rushing yards then passing yards.

I challenge you to prove me wrong.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

          • Sure enough!!!

But there's an old bit from the Simpsons where no matter what someone else said, Homer just kept saying, "Beer?"

IOW, they're stuck. Let it be. <sigh>

Nobody said that that was the case and really has no bearing on the argument.

Warren Moon was a rocket armed pocket passer that ran as a last resort.

                  • You got 3 types of QB's.
                    a) The modern "running QB"
                    b) The classic "pocket passer"
                    c) The classic "scrambler, or what is today referred to as the - mobile QB".

The latter's first and foremost though process is to hurt you far more than he could by running the ball - by throwing it. He's got no quarrels tucking it and getting the first if nothing is there though.

Only one of those really requires elite athleticism to pull off consistently to the point they'd gain more running than throwing - and very few QB's have that - and they don't keep it for very long relative to the length of an NFL QB's career. If they spend most of their early years "running to daylight", you will see the lack of development in the latter years.

This is excellent archaic thinking! Preach on Fraq. I like what you are saying.

                        • Warren Moon was one of my favorite quarterbacks. I'm so legit on the subject he was a favorite of mine with the Edmonton Oilers. For some reason I watched a lot of CFL back in the day.

I didn't know that there was an Edmonton Oilers Football team.

                            • I think what we me and FS want is a mobile QB who may start as a running QB until they work it out. Someone who can escape pressure even when a block is missed or tuck and run for a first down. Deshaun Watson or Dak type genre.

                              • My personal preference is for a tall pocket passer in the mold of Matthew Stafford.
