Sure, a first down would have been ideal, but Garapolo sucked passing the ball before that drive. The defense dominated the last time the had the ball. You have a ton of stars on the D. Put it on them to win the game. They gave it up but It was solid strategey.

My beef is with the first and second down plays really. If you're going to run the ball (and that wasn't a bad idea, for the record), at least put your backs in a position where they MIGHT be able to get the first down. Those up the gut dives had no chance of doing anything. They were effectively give up plays.

Yeah? A LOT of D's are giving up those sort of long drives the last few years, and with a lot less time on the clock too. It's not an exception anymore, it's a trend. Teams have figured out end of game strategies. Continuing to turtle up and hope your defense can stand firm is an increasingly losing one.
