Why would they do that? I mean I hope they do but what purpose to tank. To help the Lions..

Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

          • Rams at Saints is another big one this week. A toss up game if Stafford plays. Lose to the Saints? Lock in the Rams at 3-8 with the Chiefs up next.

Kupp’s injury is indeed a high ankle sprain (4-6 week recovery depending on severity). Soonest you can expect Kupp back is likely December 19th at Packers. If the Rams are 3-10 or 4-9 by that point, I can see them shutting down Kupp for the rest of the season. Interested to see what happens to the Rams offense because Kupp has been far and away their best source of offensive production this season.

            • Cooper Kupp to have tightrope surgery on injured ankle

Rams receiver Cooper Kupp may have avoided a worst-case scenario with his ankle injury. But Los Angeles’ best offensive player will still be out for several weeks.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Tuesday that Kupp will undergo tightrope surgery for his high-ankle sprain and will be placed on injured reserve.

While Kupp’s surgery will require about five-to-six weeks for him to recover, McVay did not rule Kupp out for the rest of the season. Kupp will have to spend at least four weeks on IR.

A six-week absence would have Kupp back in time for the last games of the season against the Chargers and Seahawks. But with the Rams at 3-6 heading into Sunday’s game at New Orleans, it’s in many ways hard to see Los Angeles playing meaningful games in Weeks 17 and 18.

Kupp was last year’s AP offensive player of the year after leading the league with 145 catches, 1,947 yards, and 16 receiving touchdowns. He then caught 33 passes for 478 yards with six touchdowns in four postseason games as the Rams won Super Bowl LVI and he took home Super Bowl MVP.

In 2022, Kupp has 75 catches for 812 yards with six touchdowns.

Without Kupp, Allen Robinson likely becomes the top receiving option for L.A. But with Kupp, the team is just 29th in points scored and 31st in total yards.

                    • From the google machine:

The TightRope system anchors the ends of the tibia and fibula together with a braided polyethylene cord, rather than with a rigid surgical screw, to restore the original position of the bones and to allow for proper healing.

Yeah, high ankle sprains are when the ankle rolls out rather than in. It happens a lot to O linemen when they get rolled up on. It is a serious injury and a lot of times involves broken bones. I think most players that have a high ankle sprain take a long time to heal and are never really effective in the year that it happens.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kupp is done for the year.

                          • I knew the high-ankle was always a serious one….but tightrope surgery is a new one to me. Sounds similar to the AC joint surgeries that Stafford had early in his career….different parts of the body obviously, but the tying/strengthening of the point where two bones meet part.

                            • The Rams offense looked like dog shit with Stafford back there. Without Kupp they have no shot. Their offense is putrid.

They’ll need Aaron Donald out swinging his helmet like a classy Spartan to win games

                              • Rams have more injuries to their OLine too. Do the Rams finish 4-13 this season?! 🤔 Eh, getting way ahead of myself there. Stafford had really bad wins/ losses stretches in the past due to poor rosters. Specifically the 2nd half of the 2012 season.
