    • Kayvon Thibodeaux, Rams fan, doesn’t want to play for the Rams for one specific reason

With the Rams strategically avoiding the use of any and all first-round picks, they won’t have a chance to select Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux. And that’s good news for Thibodeaux.A native of Los Angeles and a Rams fan, Thibodeaux told PFT Live on Wednesday that he doesn’t want to play for the Rams, for [more]

He's a Ram fan until we draft him

There's a video of a recent interview by Florio. A lot of interesting things said there. He is a different dude. Says there's no competition with AH because they play in different schemes.

        • Les Snead: “Innovative, creative” use of draft picks allowing us to win

Rams General Manager Les Snead has veered away from most of his peers when it comes to how he views first-round picks in the NFL Draft.

Snead has consistently shown a willingness to move those picks in trades and the Rams haven’t made a first-round selection since 2016. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey and quarterback Matthew Stafford will be in the lineup in Super Bowl LVI as a result of two of those trades and the Stafford trade has them without a first-round pick until 2024.

The Rams also traded their 2022 second- and third-round picks for linebacker Von Miller and their fourth-rounder for running back Sony Michel in other moves that helped the team win the NFC. On Wednesday, Snead discussed his philosophy regarding trading picks and said that teams that want to be the best “need to do things a little differently than the other 31.”

“The model is working,” Snead said, via Mark Canizzaro of the New York Post. “It’s allowing us to consistently win games, consistently contend for NFC West. We’ll try to use our [draft] picks in an innovative, creative way and sometimes it will be picking players in the draft and sometimes it will be using them to go acquire players.”

Those trades and other moves like the signing of wide receiver Odell Beckham have been complimented by the arrival of productive players like wide receiver Cooper Kupp, tight end Tyler Higbee, tackle Rob Havenstein, and defensive tackle Greg Gaines outside of the first round. Using a 2014 first-round pick Aaron Donald is also on the list of wise moves by Snead and the Rams as they’ve used every avenue to build a team that will try to win it all on Sunday.

          • Matthew Stafford praises Odell Beckham for stepping up after Robert Woods got hurt

When the Rams signed receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on November 12, it was unclear how big a role he would really have in a passing game that was already playing well. Then receiver Robert Woods tore his ACL in practice the next day, and suddenly Beckham had a vital role in the offense.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford praised Beckham this week for the way he stepped in when the Rams needed him after losing Woods.

“We didn’t know we were going to lose Robert like that,” Stafford said. “It was such an unfortunate event for a special player for our team, a guy who meant so much to us. But I thought Odell did a great job of stepping in. His role was different than Rob’s was, but he’s embraced that role, he’s grown in that role. What we asked him to do, to come in and learn as much as he’s learned in half a season basically, and come out here and execute and still play at a high level. A lot of times, whether it’s receiver or any other position you step in and your’e still thinking and learning. Sometimes the physical parts of the game drop off because you’re thinking. He’s done a wonderful job of being able to lock in on his role in our offense and go play fast. So nothing but love for OB. He’s done a wonderful job and really helped us out.”

Without Beckham, the loss of Woods could have been devastating to the Rams’ championship hopes. With Beckham, the Rams are at the Super Bowl.

A’Shawn Robinson: I always feel disrespected

A'Shawn Robinson fought many battles in Detroit. He sparred with teammates, the media, coaches. Anyone and everyone.

He left the Lions as soon as possible, signing with the Rams the first time he hit free agency in 2020.

The Lions beat writers asked Robinson on Wednesday whether he felt “disrespected” during his time in Detroit.

“I always feel disrespected. I never feel respected,” Robinson said, via Justin Rogers of the Detroit News. “That’s just part of my mindset, you know? Never want anything given, like that everything in my life has been earned. So I appreciate that God’s given me an opportunity to go out there and really earn everything that I want.

“So to have this (Super Bowl run), it’s good. But the job isn’t done. It doesn’t matter until the job is done. To get the respect I want, you got to finish the job.”

Robinson appreciates what he learned during his four seasons with the Lions, crediting veteran defensive linemen like Haloti Ngata, Dwight Freeney and Ezekiel Ansah with helping him grow into the player and man he is today.

“I had Haloti my rookie year and he was near and dear,” Robinson said. “He was, like, one of my best friends. He was one of my big homies. Took care of me, helped me understand things going on in this game and everything — just life. He really took me under his wing and helped me understand things.”

Robinson made 67 tackles and two sacks in 17 games this season and has added 16 tackles in the postseason.

                    • Make sure to purchase a “Detroit Rams” shirt before the big game. I see that’s actually a thing. How sad…

                      Rams win BTW.

But seriously we make fun of that but there are people, on coaching staffs, media and fans that have an issue because he may be one of those "woke" AA that cause all those problems and riots. I so wish it al were a cruel joke. <sigh>

                        • We should all be rooting for that ex-Lion. He suffered here for so many years. He gave his all and was thrown to the carpet many times but got back up and did what he could do. He was crucified by so many when he was here but now he is on the cusp of being a champion. So no love for Riley Reiff?

                          • I do remember all those people shouting on sports talk shows about how Reiff is the problem, doesn't elevate the players around him and can't win big games. Also, he was terrible at reading defenses.

                            • He's injured and won't play in the game. So there's that. His absence though has definitely played a role in their pass blocking getting even worse.
