Hey! You fucking fucks.
A lot was going on over the holidays and I had to take Jack and his furniture to DC last week to get him moved into his apartment. His internship with Senator Ossoff started Monday.
The guy I hired to demo my kitchen came in today and made some serious progress.
They took out the cabinets, removed the wallpaper and popcorn on the ceiling and tore out some drywall that had some mold that was under the window.
He's coming back tomorrow to skim coat the walls and ceiling and replace the drywall and insulation under the window.
The cabinet guy has the cabinets done and ready to install early next week.

Being thick again, …… The internship with the Senator; is he going into law or politics? The same wee Jack from years ago on The Cats family thread playing baseball at about 11 years old?! 🤦♂️ Time is flying by. Bloody scary.

Looks like two days worth of work done in one day! Those guys really pulled their fingers out and got it done.
You’d be struggling to see that type of progress over here.
I required a similar job done on a large bathroom in the Barnton Avenue area of Edinburgh. Priced to install only and the client was getting his own demo guys.
I met them all on the morning of the job, then left to go do a few other bits n pieces.
Around 11:30am, I stopped at the Baynes Baker shop on Queensferry Road for a coffee.
In the carpark was the demo guys van. Apprentice on his phone, the main guys feet up on the dashboard, cap down over his face, asleep.
Progress on that job was FUCK ALL like the work you got done in your kitchen area.

Right now, he'd like to get a job as a Congressional staffer. He is building a pretty good resume' and is getting his name out there. He had an internship with Congresswoman Terry Sewel last year, worked his ass off on a Shomari Figures' successful congressional campaign and now has this internship. He is making lots of contacts and I am pretty impressed, there are only 2 Senators per state and competition for these internships is pretty intense. I was surprised when he got it, honestly.
As far as the guy I hired goes, he is good and extremely proud of his work. He was working on the house across the street when I went over to talk to him about doing some stuff for me. He insisted on showing me what he had done there. It is top notch work.
There is a bit of a language barrier, his English is better than my Spanish by far, so we are able to communicate well enough to get the job done.
He showed up with a young helper (who doesn't speak a lick of English) and they worked their asses off yesterday
I don't want to get too political, but I'm going to go there anyway.
These old rich fuckers on this island who all voted for Trump are in for a rude awakening when he starts his deportations. They are going to be so confused when they can't get their yard done, their houses cleaned, their roofs worked on, can't get any construction projects done and can't get fresh strawberries at the local Piggly Wiggly (it still cracks me up that they have a grocery store by that name in the south. Ha!)
There is not a pool of white boys lining up to do these jobs.
