Putting children to work is key. When we painted the picnic bench up at the cabin, it needed a lot of TLC or it was going to be firewood. I gave my son a wire brush, a sander, wood putty and the paint sprayer. It turned out OK. On the holiday weekends we could get upwards of 40 people for.dinner so keeping that picnic bench viable was important.

Hey all you fucking fucks!
So far we have dodged the Hurricane Idalia bullet. The storm shifted west just enough to keep us out of most of the shit.
We had some heavy thunderstorms this morning and it has been blowing pretty good for most of the day. We have not lost power, yet, but It is blowing harder now than when I took this video, so there is still time. Ha! I think it will be past us in another hour or two. There is a lot more debris in the yard and it will take me a while to clean it up tomorrow, but it looks as if we won't have and major damage to worry about.

Going out to clean up the yard in a minute. We fared really well. No big branches down and no damage. I am glad I came off of the cash to have the trees cut and cleaned up in the spring. It most likely save us some serious bullshit.
On another note, I have a 2005 Toyota Highlander with 300,000+ miles on it. Just last week, I drove it to Chattanooga and back, to the tune of about a thousand miles.
When I drove it last night to check on our houses, the damn radiator took a shit. Of course, I'm glad that it didn't happen on my trip last week, but it is still going to be a pain in the ass and I will have to spend a lot of money to fix an 18 year old vehicle with a shitload of miles on it. Dammit.

Even though I have driven the hell out of this car, I have taken pretty good care of it. I have kept up with the routine maintenance and fixed shit when it broke, so it is worth the repair. I Ubered with it for a while to make enough $$ to get my kids through school and I use it for my work "truck". I even loaded a half pallet of sod in it. I bought it about 10 years ago for 5k and it doesn't owe me a dime, but If I got rid of it, it would be like losing an old friend. Ha! I expect to get another 100k miles out of it.

It's really not a hard job (easier than finishing drywall or most of your home remodel work imo.) Plenty of good youtube videos available. The hardest thing is disconnecting the hoses and wiring harness . Yours should be easier because of less corrosion. Get a after market radiator for about a hundred bucks plus shipping from somewhere like Rock auto.
I did one a couple months ago for a friend and it took a couple hours working at old decrepid man speed. Only busted my knuckles once...lol
