I find myself more attached to the kids shit than they are
Man, can DEFINITELY relate to that. Sensible Soccer on the Sega MegaDrive......., Scotty is like, "Dad, FIFA 22 is out soon, what ye doin' on that?"........, "Leave it, the Liverbird Linchpins are humpin the Munchester Maestros!" ....., Sensi didn't have "rights" to have the real teams names. Great memories. And EA Hockey from 94? USA v Canada? Awesome stuff. HOURS of fun.
And then all the Action Man stuff..........., Kids in bed, wife comes in from work ----- >> Tanks, jeeps, scout cars, Training centres, harrier jumpjets all over the living room. Flippin magic.
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”
My son broke his nose playing basketball last Saturday. It's a pretty bad break, bones broken and going in one direction and septum going the other. He is having surgery tomorrow, so my wife and I are driving to Auburn today. Dr said he will have a rough weekend, but should be able to go back to class on Tuesday. That puts the unpacking and organizing on hold for a few days...

Although......, I am sure all will be ok. My stepson Matthew ran full speed into a lamppost (streetlight) few years back, (15 years old) ....., totally fucked his face up for months but got much better after the surgery. Nose goes to the left slightly but it's not that bad.

CGVT, hope the bairn got on ok at the hospital and his beak is going to be ok.
Just seeing headlines of Hurricane Ida made me google more closely where your new family area is, (St Simon Island) and was seeing if you were in danger. But the google map machine took me to just north of Jacksonville?? That is some trek for a move. Great stuff.
And got to assume it was "Fk those Fking Saints" while in Spanish Fort........, and so it'll be "Fk those Fking Jaguars" in Simon Isle?
"Fk those Fking Lions" 4 EVA!

Just got home tonight. Jack had his splints removed today and was doing ok, so we sent him to his dorm room and headed home. He doesn't seem to be too much worse for wear. He's always had a bit of a beak, but at least it is nice and straight now. Ha!
When we got to the hotel in Auburn on Thursday night it was empty, but quickly filled up over the weekend with evacuees from New Orleans and linesmen from North Carolina staging to head south to get the electricity back on line. There were a lot of people in the hotel that were not sure when they would be able to go home and even if they had a home to go to. The Mobile area got a lot of wind and rain, but nothing significant, but I'm still glad that we moved when we did.
I pulled for the Saints a bit (after the Lions, of course) when we were in Spanish Fort and will probably follow the Jags some now that we are only an hour and a half from Jacksonville. I have found as we have moved around the country that it is easier to root for the local team than to root against them, although I could never be a University of Alabama or Falcons fan. That would be a bridge too far. Ha!

Great news about Jack. That will definitely have been a worry for him. Those docs know what they're doing.
Matts nose turns very slightly and even now you’ll hear him mutter under his breath, “Deek at the nick o that Duke!”
Translated is : Look at the state of my nose. (Duke of Montrose = nose)

Not really on subject, but I wanted you to see this.
Our oldest son, Will helped us move. Because I am an old fuck, there was no way we would have been able to get the truck loaded and unloaded without hiring help or hiring a moving company to move us. Will's help saved us thousands of dollars. We decided to buy him (another) guitar to show our appreciation. We got him a guitar he had is eye on, an Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 Royale, an absolutely beautiful instrument. It was delivered today and he gave it a test run.

Was NOT expecting that. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
And must say, 1:48 - 2:07 ---->> That is Joe Bonnamassa finger style right there. Flippin superb. Well done, Will. Really enjoyed that.

Wow, that was a jam! Does he play professionally? And how did your kids get all of this musical talent?
He has had a few gigs with friends, but nothing serious. He is moving to Birmingham next week and has some friends there that he is planning on getting with to play. I imagine they will find some work. He is a mechanical engineer. I think that having a "math" brain is a plus for a guitar player. Not sure where the talent comes from, certainly not from their mother and father. My mom and dad were pretty good musicians. I think it skipped a generation. Ha!

I'm so jealous of people with musical talent. No doubt he's putting in the hard work as well, but I could practice until my fingers bleed and it still wouldn't matter.

Yeah, he's got natural talent, but he works hard at it too. He's been spending a lot of time studying music theory.
I don't think I posted this one yet
