  • I kind of thought the teams were mirror images of each other. The three most destructive players for the Guardians were Kwan, Rocchio and Lane Thomas. Rocchio is a Jake Rogers type hitter who hit .500 in the series. Kwan is a really good player but not .600 BA good. Lane Thomas was their deadline addition, but he is a Matt Vierling type hitter. That's baseball, seeing eye singles are better than line drives sometimes. Cleveland is better but not by much, too many Ks by the Tiger hitters.

They signed or acquired 4 pricey players last year. They will have to do some trades and a couple free agents additions. If I were to guess 1 starter, 1 reliever and a third baseman. Their outfield is good, the infield got better when Baez went out and Sweeney went in. But they need a good right handed hitter who has power but is not a dead pull hitter and 3rd base is the obvious position.

    • To get this far against all odds was remarkable. We just don't have the roster to compete against better teams. Hand it to Cleveland. Tigers had them against the ropes going into Game 4 and they knew it. Hinch was smart to hold back Skubal for game 5, but obviously it didn't work out the way we had all hoped. I do hope they make some moves to bolster this roster for a serious run next year.

          • A little surprised that Harris season ending press conference a couple weeks ago. Among the more interesting things.

            1) There is going to be money to upgrade but the Tigers are going after talent upgrades (ie not spending money just to spend it).

            2) Need a RH in the lineup that could be either an OF or IF because Vierling could play in OF or 3b.

            3) Feels the Tigers have enough prospect depth to make trade(s)

            4) SP is a need

            5) Most of the improvement will have to come from the young players who must continue to improve

            6) Baez (who is loved in the clubhouse)does have a role next year. They will see how he looks in ST.

            7) very important offseasons for Mize and Torkelson.

            8) Max Clark, Kevin McGonigle and Lizaino (spelling?)

I don't get why these guys only get a one day ban. I think they should be banned for life.

Well, their Yankees lost to the Dodgers in the World Series, so they have all of next season to think about it.

                      • While I felt slighted that Hinch did not get manager of the year award, it is nice to see Skub get the Cy recognition. Well deserved.
