  • Now, if I was a Guardians fan, I'd be irate that they've now rattled off 20 consecutive scoreless innings, and noted that's not exactly a good way to win baseball games.

    • Runs are going to be hard to come by in this series, both teams have middle of the pack offenses and are top 5 in run prevention it's going to be low scoring. It's really hard for Cleveland when they stack the lineup with lefties and Hinch goes to a pretty good lefty in the second.

Detroit has so far had an edge in the playoffs is they have been playing this way for two months. Every series was in effect a playoff series for them and 3 out of 5 games were a bullpen game

Big leap in tech though. Freehan's "clicker" was perpetually stuck on 12:00am.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

        • Way to go Tigers. Now finish things off today so we can save Scubal for the ALCS.

            • Go Tigers!!!

I’m just happy to see how the game is scheduled at a normal time for being able to watch TV. Unlike the others being played during standard work hours … excluding the game when the Tigers were down 0-5 immediately .

              ALCS. This is the way.

When I was a kid, they rolled TVs into our classrooms so we could watch the 68 series. All games were played in the afternoon.

The state pretty much shut down during the games.
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

                  • The 68 World Series was my first sport memory.
I watched it at my friends house, who is still my best friend, and remember after the game going across the alley where his dad was and telling him the Tigers won.
Baseball and football are my favorite sports.

Yep, they did that at my elementary school too.

I was home when the game ended and my Mom told me. My friend Jimmy and I walked up to Plymouth Road and traffic was crawling with people blowing car horns and hooping and hollering. I had one of those plastic horns that you purse your lip on and blow and it makes a loud PURRRRRRRTTTT sound. I was having a blast with it. I think the 68 celebration was better than the crime riddled 84 win. Maybe they should go back to all afternoon games.

I was 5, so even if I could say I saw it - I couldn't lie and say I understood what was happening.
                        2 years later though?

                        Tom Dempsey's cannon shot. Hoe-Lee-Shit......
Reggie's demolition of a Doc Ellis offering. Who the fuck is Babe Ruth again?
Added: I've heard a lot of HR sounds - nothing compares to that one.

                        • Whenever I hear the phrase "murdered the ball" I think of Reggie Jackson. His contact sounded so damn violent. Like he legitimately hated the baseball and wanted to injure it somehow.

                          • I haven't heard that sound from wood in my life - other than that.
Crazy thing is he choked up on the bat - he was way behind in the count.
Cameraman couldn't find the ball - it wasn't supposed to be that high.

                            • Early innings, but this Ump has a traditional strike zone.
Kinda sad the Tigers had a runner at 2nd and no outs and he set up camp at 2nd. Nobody moved him.

                              • Lol, the Spanish announcers are discussing between themselves the strike zone - and whether the Ump is making the right call.
He's calling a great game so far.
