        2-1 win today over the Rays. In under 2 hours. Skubal was electric for the first 7 and Brieske was electric the last two innings.

        The Rays had some electric pitching as well. They only got to Pepiot in the 5th inning, the Tigers loaded the bases with some favorable check swing non calls on Meadows. Wenceel.Perez had a Dave Bergman like at bat to get a ground rule double.

                      Another win 7-1. Keider didn't have it so it turned into a bullpen game. Jackson Jobe made his debut in the ninth. Magic number is now 3.

                        Magic number is now 3. Can't get any lower tonight because Seattle beat Houston to remain 2 games back no matter what happens between the Twins and Marlins.

                          I think technically the Tigers magic number over the Mariners is two. They only have three games remaining, the best they can get is 85 wins. The Tigers also have the tiebreaker over them.

                          The Twins took care of business so it is still 3.

                          In this situation with all the varying tiebreakers, the magic number is a less valuable metric than it used to be. We need Karat.to bring us the magic number news.

                            Of course the Yanks have done the Tigers no favors, I watched that clinic in bad base running yesterday. They gave up 9 today.
