  • Tigers sweep Baltimore now....12-23...

Hinch says Meadows (inner ear infection) and Reyes (quad) headed to IL
Faedo will be called up for Monday start. I would guess that daz Cameron who went 4-5 today will be the other call up.

    • Color me stupid. I thought the Tigers would actually make strides this year not be one of the worst teams in baseball. I know the Greene injury sucked but the middle of their order is so bad.
      F#*K OHIO!!!

      • Its just frustrating because only 5 teams have allowed less runs than them too. They don't even need the offense to be great, just average would bring wins.

9-6 in their last 15. The pitching gives me hope.

                    • If you have good pitching then it is a lot more likely you can go on long winning streaks.

                      Spencer T.
                      Casey Mize
                      Eduardo Rodriguez Tyler Alexander
                      Matt Manning
                      K Funkhouser
                      Andrew Chafin
                      Jose Cisneros
                      Pineda

9 guys that if healthy would all be in pitching for the Tigers (Chafin is back now). The fact they are currently 10th in ERA in the majors. The depth, in the rotation, has been a big surprise for me and that gives hope.

                      • Hope for what though? It's 2022 and people who were clamoring for a rebuilding promised it would be much farther along than it is. Making a mad dash to get to 80-82 Is fool's gold. Their pitching has been OK, but the league is littered with pitching with this dead ball they are foolishly using.

I still think this team is a fringe playoff contender as it stands. I thought this was an 88 win team going into the season. That depends on guys like Schoop, Baez, Grossman playing better and they should.

The problem with the offense is the same one going into the season. They don't have a player that strikes fear into the opponent--- a tentpole if you will. That was part of the reason I wanted Correa so badly. This offense relies on several guys playing well.

                            • That team was nowhere near an 88 win team. It was an overachiever that maxed out their talent last year. They really should have won 65 games. All of their additions were good but they weren't building off a solid 77 win team. The dead ball has affected most of their hitters as none of them were real power threats. Guys like Grossman and Schoop are going to have a harder time with this new ball.

The biggest indictment of the Tigers rebuild is a 39 year old Miguel Cabrera is the unquestioned best hitter in the lineup with a .738 OPS.
