Yeah I get that, but to me winning less than 50 games in a 162 game baseball season is worse than. 0-16. The Tigers have done it twice in less than 20 years and people really remember the 2003 debacle 43 wins is less than 47, but not by much.

Avila is right with Matt Millen and Randy Smith as the absolute worst Detroit General Managers that I've ever seen in my life.

My question was more why Chris I. decided pull the trigger today, after Avila had the opportunity to fuck up another draft and trade deadline, when he wasn't any more or less of a failure than he was three months ago.

You can hand that off to an Acting GM. Not like that guy is going to do worse than Avila.

I maintain that if Avila isn't your guy anymore, then he shouldn't have been your guy three months ago, and there was no justifiable reason to wait this long to pull the plug.

SOMETHING happened inside Ilitch Holdings that suggested to Chris I. that he had to make a change, and it happened recently.

It's not going to matter much if Chris Illitch continues to lie to the fanbase that he can only sustain a below league average payroll.

You can hire Theo Epstein if you want, but if you only hand him $130 million a year to build a team, how much better can you expect it to be?
