I'm surprised he got anything for Grossman. I expect Grossman will be much better for the Braves than he was this year for the Tigers. They needed to move on from him, if he wasn't traded I think he may have been DFA'd.

Dombrowski would do that a lot at the deadline, he give up somebody in the low farm for a decent major leaguer. Now the Tigers are on the other end. At least with both Grossman and Fulmer, they were truly rental players. But it sucks that Fulmer was once the face of the rebuild, is now a grizzled veteran going into free agency and the team is much worse than when they gave up Cespedes for him.

The Single A guy is cheaper. That's the only thing Chris I. cares about, and Avila follows his marching orders well.

I think since you posted this the Tigers have given up 13 runs in 2 games. The pitching is awful.

Still only 3 wins total for the SP rotation and 2 of them are Scooby. Other than him, 1 win in our entire SP group. 1.

We are in August and the Tiger pitching has a 4.04 ERA and the MLB league average is 3.99. Their wretched hitting is the worst in baseball, only 3.21 runs per game. The pitching has held up OK considering the pressure of knowing that giving up 2 runs early is almost impossible to come back.
