Mayhew was a debacle as well. Yeah he had some pretty decent drafts but how in the holy f*ck can you hand the team over to the understudy of the worst GM run in pro football ever (at the time). That was the dumbest shit I've ever seen
Remember, WCF Sr. ran the Detroit Lions (Into the Ground!!!) for 50 years.
The fish rotted from the top.
I'm hoping that his daughter, Sheila Hamp, is the exact opposite of him, but what choice do us Lions fans have??
"I hope to see the Lions in the Super Bowl before I die"

This offense is just brutal. It seems they are always going 1-2-3 with quick outs. Maybe they need to bring in another hitting coach. They are brutal to watch and BORING.
I don’t get why some Tigers fans are trying to sell that this team will be fun to watch this Summer. That’s something I’ve seen in the last 24 hours. Sure, this offense should pick up, but by how much?
The other thing I’ve seen is people try to defend Avila by saying this Tigers team is great on paper. The players are letting Avila down. Crap like that.
Reminds me of when I was young and how I thought the 2005 Lions offense would be elite because it looked great on paper.
QB - Joey Harrington, #3 overall pick.
RB - Kevin Jones, 1st RD pick
WR - Charles Rogers, 1st RD pick
WR - Mike Williams, 1st RD pick
WR - Roy Williams, 1st RD pick
TE - Marcus Pollard. Peyton Manning’s favorite TE from the high powered Colts offense.
“Wow, look how elite this looks on paper! If they mostly suck, it’s the players fault! Not Millen!” 🤣
…
Well… hopefully this AJ Hinch ejection provides a spark. I have some doubts.

Tigers have no pitching. The bats will improve because they can't much worse. Cande isn't going to bat sub .200 all year. But when they put Greene in we'll see another regression. There was never going to be anything fun about this season.
I get the players not playing right narrative. Avila did make some good moves, Baez, Meadows, and Tork coming up this year but always playing from behind is demoralizing.
Next year with Skubal and Mize (hopefully) taking the next step, and Tork and Greene having a big league season under their belt may develop into something.
That looked like a strike to me. What’s he arguing about?
F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.
I think the pitching has been OK. But the pitching has been up all around the league.
Our entire starting pitching rotation (coming into the DH today) had a combined 2 wins on the season with an ERA near 5.0 with the fewest SP strikeouts in the majors. That is not Ok. Scoobie has been good. Bullpen has been ok. But pitching overall is terrible right now.
The pitching has been league average in era with 3.57, the league average is 3.58. The offense is dead last. The pitching has been OK, league average is OK.

Like I said, the relief has been ok. Look at the starting pitching (other than Skubal). They are atrocious. ERod and Alexander especially.
If your pitching is league average and your hitting is dead last, the hitting is the problem. Today the pitchers gave up 4 runs over 18 in innings and could only manage a split. I think they have 10 homers total. It's laughable how many games they lose 3-2.
Tough luck on Perez, but pitchers get hurt. It's part of the attrition of the position. We also have Faedo and Wentz recovering from TJ. Meanwhile, the guy everyone is up in arms about trading his $25 million per contract (Verlander) is also out with TJ.
Good take, that guy is 4-1 this year with a 1.55 era. He took a no hitter into the 8th tonight. Worst trade ever and it was obvious at the time.

They were 10th in teh league in ERA when I checked the other day....Pitching hasnt been the problem.....When the bats come around, they may play better in second half of season like they did last year, but most likely it will be too late.

I'm certainly not saying hitting isn't horrific. I keep saying that the starting pitching is just as bad.
I think they're relief pitching SUCKS!
A few days ago our bullpen had the lowest ERA in baseball, and if not for that grand slam they'd still be 1st rather than 2nd.
