  • Coulda done without the whole "17 consecutive scoreless innings" part, but gotta take getting a split coming into Detroit.

    • Worth it to watch Klase dog it covering first and then get pulled.

      • We get it, you already posted something about the scoreless innings.

That's playoff baseball. The story is not that, the story was Skubal being great, great defense and Kerry Bonds hitting a bomb off Clase.

        • Trey Sweeney making the case of being the most consequential deadline acquisition in MLB and he was considered the secondary piece in that trade. That double play was sweet and he was on base during the Kerry Bonds Bomb.

          • Also, in the off-season they need another right handed hitter. They mash against right handed pitchers, but you put a lefty against this team, it is slim pickings.

No other team in the playoffs over the last three years went that long without scoring. So, no... that's actually not playoff baseball... probably because teams that go that long without scoring tend to find themselves, well... not in the playoffs anymore.

              • Yeah but they won and you keep on doing multiple variations of the same post. We get it dude.

Clearly you don't, since you want to keep arguing with me on it.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry. I can be happy they won and got a split against Cleveland. I can be elated that Detroit is going to see some playoff baseball (and think it's a damn shame that my schedule doesn't work out for me to attend one of them), and not be happy that their offense really stunk for most of the first two games in the series.

It's okay to like some things, and not like other things. It really and truly is.

                  • Although if you want some happy posting, I'm glad to do that. In one of the few times Skubal and Clase have played in the same game (Clase being the guy that Cleveland thinks should be the AL Cy Young):

                    Skubal - 7.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 Hits, and 8 Ks.
                    Clase - 1.0 IP, 3 ER, 3Hits, and 1 K.

                    • Carpenter has to play more even if he allegedly sucks against lefties. You don't take out your best clutch hitter for anything.

You do when he's hitting .107 with a .408 OPS against lefties. There's sucking against lefties, and there's "Mario Mendoza is embarrassed at your efforts against left-handed pitching."

I actually have no problems with how Hinch is managing this roster. He is getting more out of it than any manager has any business getting.

Over a two game span maybe, but Arizona went 17 scoreless innings from the when they last scored in Game 1 of the Philly series to when they finally scored on Game 3 just last year when they made it to the World Series

Well, I stand corrected. I missed that stretch.
