The NFL has completely revamped kickoffs, using the XFL style....Pretty soon we wont even recognize the game anymore they are making so many changes.Comment

The NFL has been instituted changes every year as long as any of us has been watching and it has served them well. The sport that doesn't change with the times is doomed. The flip side to football is baseball, they rarely change things up. It took them 30 to 100 years to implement a pitch clock to put a stop to ever the ever increasing game length even though baseball fans complained about it for years
The kickoff in the NFL as you saw it in 2023 was neutered to the point of being nearly meaningless and had the effect of taking away onside kicks as an option. The XFL kickoff was an improvement over that.Comment

Looks promising.
Are we actually going to see more kick returns with this? or more of the same when it comes to touchbacks… if so, perhaps moving the kicker back 5 yards like a decade ago would have been ideal.
Reminds me of the time when the Lions had Eddie Drummond on special teams. Rare fun from the Millen era.
