One thing most of those Georgia DL have in common is a lack of Woop az. Wyatt stood out because he has moves. Davis is just big. That's not enough and certainly lends itself to playing too high. Which he did at Georgia.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Otherwise, if Stafford wasn't going to retire, the Lions should've just kept him against his will. Stafford, whether he wants to be here or not, will give it his all every Sunday.

So why pay and keep on the book a QB's that is hitting his Lions limit, with back problems, to have to resign him when you in theory start getting good again, when he is worth something and you could speed up the rebuild minus the QB with the resources you got from him. We were able to get waaaaay over its value, when moving to get the WR from the pick. You keep Stafford you don't get him. You keep Stafford you don't get Aden. It isn't addition by subtraction. But keeping him slowed the rebuild and again would needed to resign before the 2023 season the first season we could be competitive again. Would he even resign if we wanted him to with another 2 years of dismal support?

All great arguments, but here's a fact. He's the best QB in the history of the Lions, by far, and those are hard to come by. I'd rather have Stafford than our entire draft this year. The Broncos were mediocre when Elway was the same age Stafford is now. They held onto their QB and it paid off big."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

Last I checked Elway never asked Denver for a trade, nor did he get so frustrated with the Broncos that he retired rather than keep playing.
That happened to the Lions (twice), and they did exactly what you say they should have done. Both players then walked away with both middle fingers extended. It was the wrong decision both times, and it would have been the wrong decision to try and force Stafford to keep playing when he no longer wanted to be here.

Elway and the Broncos had massive success early on in his career as well. They won’t 12 or 11 games 3 of his first 4 years.
Winning makes things easier. Stafford already went through Schwartz, Caldwell and Fat Pat. Starting over that many times is ridiculous.
We f’ed up never giving him an offensive minded coach instead of offensive shitty coaches. I have no idea what they were thinking.F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

I already acknowledged that we did the right thing in trading him if he was in fact threatening to retire.
I'm just saying that, accounting for position, he's the most valuable player we ever had, and we let him go for way too little."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

Revenge porn lawsuit against Von Miller dismissed

A lawsuit was filed against Bills linebacker Von Miller alleging he sent an explicit photo of a woman to two other people earlier this year, but it will not be an issue for him to deal with as he moves toward the 2022 season.
TMZ Sports reports that court documents show that the suit against Miller has been dismissed. The case was dismissed with prejudice, which means that another suit making the same claim cannot be filed.
It’s not known if the case was dismissed following a settlement, but the plaintiff in the case was seeking monetary damages from Miller.
Miller has not made any public comment about the suit and its dismissal may mean that remains the case as he prepares for his first season in Buffalo.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. Patrick Mahomes: I can only imagine how good Justyn Ross is going to be
Posted by Myles Simmons on May 27, 2022, 9:26 AM EDT
USA TODAY Sports
Chiefs undrafted receiver Justyn Ross created a stir on social media when he made a terrific one-handed catch during Wednesday’s OTA practice and carried himself as if it were business as usual.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes praised Ross for the catch on Twitter and had more positive things to say about the young receiver when he was asked about Ross during his Thursday press conference.
“Yeah, I mean, you still see the talent. I think that’s the first thing,” Mahomes said. “I know people saw the catch on Twitter, but it’s just the way he catches the football out of the air. He snatches it — there’s no drops or anything like that. Now it’s about him learning the NFL offense. That’s how it is for every rookie when they come in, is, you don’t see that top talent that they can be until they learn and they can just play fast. And I think you’ve seen that. You’ve seen those flashes of how talented he can be. And then you’ve seen times where he’s just barely off of what we wanted. And he learns from that, he doesn’t make that same mistake.
“And so, the more and more reps that he gets, I can only imagine how good he’s going to be because of the talent he possesses.”
Ross’ story is unique because he appeared on track to become a first-round pick as a true freshman at Clemson. But then he had a series of injuries, including a spinal condition that has now been fully cleared.
It’s May, which makes it too early to come to any sort of conclusions about an undrafted free agent. But there’s opportunity at receiver on the Chiefs and Ross appears to be taking advantage of that.

What will the Vikings do with Justin Jefferson, given the ongoing spike in the receiver market?
Posted by Mike Florio on May 27, 2022, 10:05 AM EDT

The NFL’s various teams are currently taking very different approaches to the receiver position. Some are drafting new ones. Some are paying the ones they have. Some are paying big money to new arrivals after giving up trade assets.
G.M. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is a new arrival in Minnesota. The team has a star receiver in Justin Jefferson, who is one season away from eligibility for a new contract. Earlier this week, I asked Adofo-Mensah to address Jefferson within the context of this unusual new world of approaching the receiver position.
“He’s special,” Adofo-Mensah said of Jefferson. “First and foremost. That’s the first thing I knew. When you study these rosters for these job interviews, you get excited about working with a guy like that. Great players like him are scarce. They don’t grow on trees, right? You could draft four times for the next four years in the first-round pick, four receivers, and none of them would be as good as Justin Jefferson. . . .
“Whatever you decide, make sure that you appreciate the likelihood of replacing that kind of skill set. . . . I’ve had conversations with Justin and his agent; I’ll keep those conversations to us alone, but when you’re doing these conversations you think about the value of the player, but also where you are as a team. If your team construct was in a place where maybe you’re far away from winning, maybe you’d make a different decision. We don’t plan to be that way so I’m not trying to say that, but I think every decision is kind of made and people think about these decisions in isolation, but they’re made as a part of a portfolio of decisions. If you look at the decisions made in this offseason, I think you can tell that.”
He’s right. Every team is making its receiver decisions based on their own unique situations. For the Vikings, who are closer to contending than not contending, it makes sense to keep Jefferson. It may make even more sense after Jefferson has a season in an offense that will feature him the way the Rams offense featured Cooper Kupp.
But it won’t be cheap. And if Jefferson does indeed become even better this year than he’s been in an offense that could be supercharged in comparison to what it has been, it will only get more expensive to keep him around.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.
