He'd be the best WR on our team...
JOHN BROWNWR, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Raiders released WR John Brown.
Brown supposedly "requested" his release, but this move had been telegraphed for several days now. It did not seem implausible that Brown would emerge as the Raiders' de facto No. 1 receiver upon his signing in March, but instead coach Jon Gruden seemed to think Brown didn't have any legs left. He will undoubtedly get another opportunity elsewhere as a field stretcher. The Raiders are moving forward with young guns Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards alongside veterans Willie Snead and Hunter Renfrow. It's not a great situation for Derek Carr, who figures to lock on ever tighter to Darren Waller.
