    • Whatever the plan was, here’s the perspective of at least one Eagles player:

      • The players are competitors, makes sense they wouldn't like it if they think it hurt their chances.

The only thing that irks me is teams like KC and Pitt flat out don't put their best team out at all ... and it's accepted. Screw off double standard.

Teams can do WHATEVER THEY WANT and everybody should chill

        • PS Philly pretty obviously needs a receiver. Fairly likely one of Smith/ Chase gone by 6 ... unless they don't like Hurts that much

          • You have players needing to be restrained from going after Pederson, but yeah it's a good plan to put out Nate Fucking Sudfield.

            • Who cares whether it's a good plan or not? I wouldn't have done it, I would've let Hurts try to win the game.

The problem is that nobody talks about teams like Pitt and KC "compromising the integrity of the game" ... happens every year

              • Tell me why it's no big deal for Pitt to sit Big Ben when the Covidland Browns can knock another team out of the playoffs ... but Pederson is the devil for putting Sudfeld in whenever he feels like it

                • I don't have an issue with it. If the Lions would have pulled Stafford in the 4th Q vs the Vikings, would have made me happy.

It's a big deal to some people because of the timing. Prime time game with millions of people watching as the Eagles deliberately decide to tank. As you said, there are several other examples of teams tanking with playoff implications in a game.

                  • It just makes even less sense to me because Hurts wasn't playing well. Had 106 yds total for his team in 3 and a half quarters.

Don't get me wrong the guy has had some nice plays but he's also shown to be very inaccurate and had hardly solidified himself as "The guy." Turning elsewhere when your offense is stagnant isn't necessarily throwing a game away unless you know the other guy to be much worse.

                    • Those other teams sitting ayers isn't good either, but it doesn't come close to that Sudfeld debacle.

                      • Matt Patricia is available to coach the NE way.

Don’t know what the article says, but I wonder if Josh McDaniels becomes a favorite for HC there? Caserio and McDaniels are tight.

EDIT: Apparently McClain has reported that Josh McDaniels won’t be a candidate for their HC job.

                          • They’ve got that weird thing going on with that other NE guy, Jack Easterby.

                            • The good thing for us is this eliminates one GM opening. Nick Caserio is a GM hire that no Lions fan could stomach right now.

                              • Birkett thinks Colbert or Schneider are real possibilities. He also thinks Spielman is probably being groomed for something bigger down the road.

I think if you could get either one, I think there is a chance they don't go total rebuild.
