I really don't care what Philly did. If the Giants wanted to make the playoffs, they should have won more than 6 games. But it's fun watching Peterson spin it. I'm sure he had the backing of his bosses to pull that shit, but can't imagine it went over well with the other players. And throwing Sudfeld in 3/4 through a game against one of the better defenses and DL in the league, taking over at his own 11 yard line sure doesn't seem like a good way to assess him.

It just looked bad, I can guarantee you they did not need to evaluate Nate Sudfield. Just because they telegraphed the exit strategy in case they got too close to winning. The evaluation story made no sense at the time and will never make any sense, he's Nate Sudfield.

Actually, I'd argue that's evidence that they WEREN'T really trying to win. In that situation, it makes all the sense in the world to take the points rather than gamble on a 4th and 4, which in that situation is a pretty damn low percentage play.

Sure, if it had worked, Pederson wouldn't have been cursing in anger. They weren't trying to lose... but they weren't exactly putting themselves in the best position to win, either.
