  • I don't know all the minutiae to this - however..I took my daughter to a concert in Chicago last summer (2023) @ the United Center. Ticketmaster technically sold out within minutes when general sales started so I thought we were out of luck. In Illinois, there is a rule that Ticketmaster tickets can be resold through StubHub. When I made the purchase through StubHub, I received resold Ticketmaster tickets and they were legitimate.

    And yes, the fees suck.

I’d recommend TickPick - they show you the total cost of ticket with all the fees and everything up front.

But be prepared, the fees suck. Maybe check locally or ask around to see if there’s somebody in your social network that has tickets they may be willing to sell. Seller gets the same value but you both avoid the fees.
Boy, you weren’t kidding about the fees. I ended up getting resale tickets through StubHub. What I should have done, in retrospect, was go through the nfl team website; they list resale tickets and “original” sale tickets. I could have gotten relatively the same tickets for about $20 less, and wouldn’t have the anxiety of the tickets not showing up in my account until a couple days before the game

      • Corporate monopolies now on resale of tickets have changed now the affordability of concerts.

        • I will also be at the Houston game. A friend of mine got gifted tickets from a family member who has season tickets for his business and I got the invite!

I'm not much of a stadium guy but I live 2 hours from Houston now so I may be there too.

              • I saw this in a Ringer article. Browns are so screwed and it's hard not to feel a little schadenfreude at the karma. (though I feel badly for Browns fans)

Should the Browns cut Watson after this season, his dead cap charge would total $172 million, according to Over the Cap. If the Browns took this on, they couldn’t roster an entire team of players—not even on minimum-salary deals. So that’s probably out.
                It is a "manageable" $99M after 2025

                • Davante Adams appears to be officially on the trade block. Don’t imagine the Lions will get involved - if he gets dealt I would think Dallas or the Jets most likely.

                  • Now if the Raiders wanna shop Crosby, the Lions should be listening...

                    • Adams has been rumored to the Jets due to Rodgers for the longest time. Though I wonder if KC should think about acquiring a WR. Mahomes could make crap like Kris Durham or Kenny Golladay work, but it’s making his job more difficult due to the loss of starting WRs. Hollywood Brown done and TBD about Rashee Rice.

Yeah, Crosby + Hutchinson would be insane. Good luck defending that in a hypothetical. The idea of making that kind of big trade would be something Brad Holmes’ former boss Les Snead would do with the Rams. Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey…

                      • I don’t think the Raiders would send Adams to the Chiefs.

                        • Yeah, one of the analysts today said the Raiders would rather send Adams home for the rest of the year than trade him to the Chiefs.

                          • at 1:00, nice line about CJGJ and at 3:27 a joke that will probably only be understood by Detroiters

                            • It's crazy that the only 2 really good players on the Raiders would fill pretty much the only 2 holes we have.

But with how Holmes drafts, and with how it's always a risk to bring in external talent on a huge contract, I'm hoping Holmes sticks to his guns and just gives up a 3rd at most at the trade deadline.

                              • I’m down for an aggressive move this season. Particularly if the Lions have a great record by early November. One impact player can be the difference in marginal playoff games.

Nothing desperate, but capitalize if the trade opportunity is there. Smart organizations like the 49ers, Rams, and others have been buyers at the trade deadline in recent years.
