Put a nail in that coffin. Patriots will definitely be looking for a QB. If they're smart, they'll draft one at #3 and do a full rebuild.
Was reading an article by a Patriot sportswriter cosplaying as a national sportswriter claiming that they are the pivot point of the draft at #3 since they can go in so many directions. I mean, I guess if you're delusional about the competitiveness of the team. Every realistic mock drafter just gives them the #3 QB prospect at that spot. Pick #5 is the real pivot point.
Honestly, I'm really looking forward to the Patriots fans learning about how a Belichick roster only works for Belichick. Wouldn't mind seeing that fan base go through a decade or so of losing.

There have been some rumblings about Mayfield and the Patriots. Belichick was rumored to be a big fan of Baker during that draft. BB obviously not there anymore, but there could still be some people in the organization that like him.
Sign Baker, draft Harrison and fill up on OL in free agency, might be appealing to a defensive coach that feels pretty good about his side if the ball.

But realistically this is the year to get a QB high, even if Harrison Jnr is the smart pick at that spot.

Cousins is not taking a small contract. He’ll get $45-50/year probably, and if he leaves Minn it could be 3-4 year deal. Minnesota wants him back, but whether they are willing to commit beyond a couple of years is the question.

Whereas the Minny might not want to spend that much on a QB to continue to tread water as the need some significant rework of the team. Not keeping Cousins may allow them to really attack the rest of the team while they figure out who the next QB is.
