"Something scary (for others): A playoff game at Ford Field
There has never been one. The last time Detroit hosted a playoff game was on Jan. 8, 1994, and their home field was the Pontiac Silverdome then. The Silverdome has since been demolished, and General Motors doesn’t even make Pontiacs anymore. But the Lions are good again, and their home field was raucous for “Monday Night Football” as rookie Jahmyr Gibbs had a breakout game with a season-high 152 rushing yards. Imagine it for a playoff game. The Eagles should make sure the Lions stay in their rearview mirror."
----------------------------------------------------LOVE IT!!!
The only thing that I didn't like about this article is that the stadium was named after the city, which was named Pontiac decades before GM made the Pontiac.
Also, since the Detroit Lions are owned by the Ford Family, they would never have the name of another automobile/car/truck company on any stadium that they play in.

The Eagles, 49ers, and Seahawks all traded for defensive help and the Lions picked up a guy that might be the 4th option on offense. Can’t say I’m too pleased.
Henderson, Nev. – As the Raiders at 3-5 watch another season likely slip away after Monday's 26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, their two best players – and two of the best at their positions in the NFL – are watching their peaks years slide right along out of sight.
Eastern Michigan's Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams could have been key pieces for a championship contender elsewhere, but are instead stuck in Las Vegas with a Raiders team that will likely miss the playoffs for the 19th time in 21 years.
Both remained on the roster Tuesday after the league's trade deadline.
Adams has voiced his displeasure since the offseason and he has been careful not to blame the coaches.
He had potential touchdowns wiped out Monday on errant passes from Jimmy Garoppolo. One was underthrown in the end zone and the other two were overthrows after Adams got wide open.
After the last overthrow in which Adams used a brilliant move to get open, he went to the sideline, slammed his helmet and said a few choice words.
Adams didn't have such frustration in his eight seasons in Green Bay catching passes from Aaron Rodgers as he developed into one of the NFL's top receivers. He also was outstanding in his first season in Las Vegas with 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns, but this season the subpar quarterback play by Garoppolo and backups Brian Hoyer and Aidan O'Connell has often made Adams irrelevant in games.
Adams, who turns 31 on Christmas Eve, has only one 100-yard game this season, a 13-catch, 172-yard performance in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Crosby, whose motor never stops running, has spent his entire five-year career with the Raiders. He often has been dominant and against the Lions forced and recovered a fumble and had a tackle for loss.
The Raiders' defense has improved this season and kept the offense in the game, but Las Vegas has scored at least 20 points just once in their past nine games.
Crosby, 26, has made no secret he's sick of the losing and aches to play in late-season games that matter. He did that two years ago when the Raiders made the playoffs, but that was the only time.
“We've just got to play better,” Crosby said. “As a team, we're not playing good enough right now.”

It was a terrible hire to begin with....McDaniels was awful in Denver...I have no idea how he got hired again.....The GM had no plan in place at QB....There were rumors that the Raiders really thought they were going to get Tom Brady, and when that fell through not much was left so they went with Jimmy G who looks like he is about done as a starting QB....They had the 7th pick and couldnt bother to trade up and get a QB or take a chance on Levis....They got what they deserved.
Yeah I’m kind of perplexed as to why several other teams passed on Levis. Kid looks the part for sure

The Raiders are like what the Lions used to be when WCF was alive, going from one disaster (Russ Thomas) to another (Matt Millen.)
At least his daughter is way better than he ever was as an Owner.

Less than two seasons into their tenures and a day after a poor showing on the national TV stage of “Monday Night Football,” the Raiders have fired coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.
The team announced the firings late Tuesday.
The Raiders won just nine of their 25 games under the two, who arrived from New England in January 2022. That includes a 6-11 finish last season and the 3-5 start to this season.
“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” owner Mark Davis said in a statement. “I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.”
Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce will take over as interim coach. Champ Kelly, the Raiders’ assistant general manager, will replace Ziegler at least for the rest of the season.
The Raiders had trouble playing consistent football under McDaniels, and they have been one of the worst offensive teams in the NFL this season.
McDaniels was hired with the hope that his rich offensive pedigree as the longtime coordinator with the Patriots would transition to Las Vegas.
But it hasn’t been the case, as the offense regressed under McDaniels’ stewardship despite having one of the best wide receivers in the game in Davante Adams and the 2022 NFL rushing leader in Josh Jacobs.
McDaniels has also failed to get much out of the quarterback position, with Derek Carr’s play languishing down the stretch last season before he was benched and later released. His replacement, Jimmy Garoppolo, ranks as one of the worst quarterbacks in the league this season.
With McDaniels no longer in the picture, the door opens for rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell to replace Garoppolo as the starter. A person with knowledge of the situation indicated that the Raiders are leaning in that direction.

It was a fairly deep QB pool, of which Levis was considered the weakest of the class (a lot of draftniks thought the injured Hendon Hooker could have potentially gone before Levis), and his turnover rate at Kentucky was not exactly what people were looking for. Once he made it through the Top 10, there really wasn't a team that was particularly looking for a QB at that point.
The Raiders Quinntricia situation was briefly mentioned a day ago in one of these threads. See what I mean with this quote from ESPN’s article? The unfortunate thing is we had to go through 3 years of it, not 2 years. ‘The Patriot way’ outside of NE needs to permanently go away. OR maybe the key to its success was heavily on the GOAT Tom Brady!
Lolololo:
McDaniels and Ziegler, both hired in January 2022, inherited a 10-7 team that made an unexpected run to the playoffs during the 2021 season -- just the organization's second postseason bid since 2002 -- under interim coach Rich Bisaccia and then-GM Mike Mayock, who took over following the in-season resignation of coach Jon Gruden.
Davis said at the time that McDaniels and Ziegler were expected to take the team to the "next step" in its evolution. Instead, the Raiders went a combined 9-16 without a playoff appearance under the new regime.
Guarantee the Raiders go big after Jim Harbaugh. Mark Davis has been all into going after the splashy names. Such as Jon Gruden and Josh McDaniels being hard to hire over the years. Mike Mayock as GM too…

It’s definitely easy in hindsight

The Athletic had a good analysis on Levis, pointing out that even with those 4 TDs, the Titans had the 2nd worst passing success rate last week, behind only the Giants clusterfuck. Basically, the Titans coaches drew up some shot plays and Levis hit them all or most of them (which is exceedingly rare) and the rest of the offense was stuck in the mud. And those big shot plays are what Levis is built for with his cannon arm.
They weren't down on Levis per se, just pointing out that some of the down to down concerns with him coming out of the draft were still there. Teams are going to take away the down the field stuff and force him to dink and dunk his way down the field and see if he can do that.
