  • If the Vikings were to shut down Jefferson for the year, I suspect that would be the end of Jefferson in Minnesota.

Why? They’re not letting him walk. He’s one of the best players in the NFL
      F#*K OHIO!!!

      • My guess is this will be the last Kirk Cousins season for the Vikings. With that contract coming off the books, make Justin Jefferson the highest paid WR in the NFL. Pair Jefferson with one of the 1st RD QBs and the cheap rookie scale contract … my personal preference, hopefully it’s not JJ McCarthy. I don’t want to root against him for years.

I like referring to these algorithmic ranking systems because it helps keep things grounded. There are no emotional reactions to recent games in these rankings.

Both of them view the 49ers, Chiefs, Eagles & Bills as a distinct top-4 in the league.

As I understand, he's coming up on a contract year. If they shut him down to tank? He's not going to want to come back.

            • Jefferson is apparently beloved in the city, and not just like any great player, but like a real bond that he has with community.

                • The Seahawks are grossly underrated and not just because they beat us.

                  • “Sources: Rams exploring trades for Van Jefferson.”

lol… This one made me chuckle. Les Snead sure loves publicly floating stuff like this. Same thing as washed Allen Robinson a few months ago.
I drafted Van Jefferson in like the last round for fantasy. Oops, should have been Nacua!!!

                    • The Ringer NFL Power Rankings has the Lions 6th

But that's not why I'm posting them. If you look in the top right of each team's area, they list team EPA rankings for passing & running offense & defense, which is a really respected and effective measurement of each of those things.

What is very interesting and possibly revealing about the Lions four EPA rankings is that they are ranked #14 overall in their worst category, passing defense. This is the highest epa ranking in the NFL for a team's worst attribute. In other words, the Lions have the "strongest weakness" in the NFL. I could make the argument that when it comes to winning and losing an actual NFL game, being able to take advantage of a team's weakness matters more than a team's strength and the Lions give opponents the least amount of leverage in the NFL.

For example, if we play the Eagles, we can use the 7th best passing offense against their #19 pass defense. That would be the biggest EPA mismatch in the game.

IT isnt like when the Lions traded Slay...They only got a 3rd and 5th for him.....This would cost at least 2 high picks and most likely 3 or 4......then you will have to pay the man soon....and St Brown....and Penei....And Aidan....and Goff....and you see where this is going? You cant have 53 guys making 20 million.....It works in fantasy football but not real football.....The moer of these guys you go after, the more of your own you probably have to let walk.....and the loss of the high draft picks would not be easy to overcome.....it just doesnt make much sense.

Yeah but enough $$$ and anyone will sign anything. If they pay Hockensuck a yacht-load of cash, why would they not do the same for JJ?

and who is going to throw both of them the ball next year? It just seems like a foregone conclusion that Cousins will leave.
