  • Wilson, the way it looks, is going to be one of, if not the worst trade in Broncos history. Do you guys remember what they gave up?

Noah Fant, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive end Shelby Harris, 2022 and 2023 first-round picks, 2022 and 2023 second-round picks and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

    • The draft picks in particular should be favorable for the Seahawks.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been any NFL firings today (so far). Was expecting to see any of Nathaniel Hackett, Lovie Smith, or Joe Barry to be let go.

      • Teams might be waiting until the season ends? I think Smith might get an extra year though but if he doesn't I think Houston will have 4 coaches in 4 years. That is hard to do and have quality coaches interested in coming.

I think Kingbury is close to being shown the door too.

        • Do you guys think the Jets will move on from Wilson? I know there wasn't a lot of love around here for him but I'd take a chance on him. I liked his game @ BYU

I was thinking the same thing when Dungy was questioning the Jets move last night. He basically said that once you bench your high draft pick QB, it is really difficult to go back to him.

            • For them to move on they are going to want to recoup something. It doesn't seem right now that he is the future there but don't think the Jets give him away either. I don't know what the asking price will be but seems like it would be more than I'd want to see the Lions pay based on his half a year as a pro.

              • The bench mark is a 2nd rounder considering thats what the Jets traded Darnold for.

                • Rosen got a 2nd and a 5th. So that seems to be the ballpark for top 10 reclamations projects.

                  • Good points, and to me that seems too much for Wilson right now. Would anyone want to see a 2nd for Wilson in Detroit? I don't care much for Goff but I wouldn't even want to see Detroit trade him for Wilson and draft capital right now.

Kingsbury and their entire regime potentially too.

As for Lovie Smith. I was reading up about what the great Houston Texans follower John McClain had to say about it. Seems like Lovie Smith will end up being another lame duck head coach. Particularly if they don’t show signs of improvement.

Texans and Lions kind of had the same starting point in 2021. New GM, new HC, traded away the franchise QB, and a crap roster. Fair to say our Lions situation looks significantly better than the Texans 22 months into the rebuild.

                      • Incredibly better. Firing Smith makes sense other than he hasn't really had a chance but he has done nothing to earn another year. But #1 overall pick is a hell of an incentive for a new regime especially with another 1st round, top 2nd round, and 2 3rd rounders.

I don't follow much with Houston. Have they done anything this year to give them reason to think they are on the right path? I know they aren't winning and I've heard Cooks is trying to find a way out.

                          • Lol. Real life John McClain is pure sports wisdom.

But yeah, Houston Texans situation seems UGLY from my outsider perspective. They get the #1 overall pick. Lock it in. I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t happen.

                            • I kind of want to see Smith stay probably because that is the type of team and spot that would be a Ben Johnson landing spot.
