It’s never an easy transition from the college ranks to the pros. College coaches that have gotten used to the swagger of winning really struggle but watching Urbs first and prob last year is a train wreck.
The best QB prospect in years hasn’t looked good and he’s coming off like a real asshole. Florida wouldn’t take him back even if he wanted to head there and I’m pretty sure Ohio has shut that door too.
It’s been awhile since I’ve watched a collapse like thisF#*K OHIO!!!

I don’t think the Tebow thing was that big of a deal but UFM has definitely had a year that he’d like to forget. There’s no way this guy comes back next yearF#*K OHIO!!!

He somehow managed to piss of Marvin Jones so bad he left the building. Jones is about as professional of a dude you’ll see by all accounts, always came out and did his job in Detroit despite everything.

No idea if Jacksonville bails on Meyer. I don't think they will despite the drama because of the contract.
Reportedly $10-12M per season + tough language in the contract. Khan can definitely afford it, but I don't think it happens. There isn't a college job available anymore that Meyer would leave for too.
Needs to be one heck of an offseason for Meyer to fix this.
“Shad Khan wanted to hire Urban Meyer so badly that I think there’s not a lot of language in his contract that has a lot of teeth to it in terms of a clause that would allow the team to get out of it,” Carlyon said.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

I was totally wrong on him, I thought he would be much more into it. But to me it shows me that most of these head coaches have a shelf life. I don't know how or why Saban and Belichick are still going gangbusters at their advanced ages, but it's clear Meyer is cooked. Being a head coach in either college or the pros is all about energy and ideas. If you are lucky you get a prime of 5-10 prime years after that I think the energy is gone and everyone has caught up to your once cutting edge ideas.

Good point on the Tebow thing as far as it speaking to Meyer being out of his depth. I think it was done as a courtesy to give a guy a chance and there's nothing really wrong with that but he should have known it wasn't a realistic opportunity and you're just wasting practice snaps someone else could have had.
I don't know if he's trying to get fired or not but he definitely seems to be the next failed College coach who can boss around kids but has no idea how to treat grown men. Pretty much why I always prefer nfl coordinators or position coaches over college jumps. Not that there aren't success stories.
