Anyone who is interested in knowing if the Detroit Lions are a clown college already knows they are. There might be some interest in seeing exactly how that circus performs, but beyond that... what's to know? They're a trash franchise run by idiots and a trust fund family that wouldn't know competence if it drug them out into the street and shot them.

For the future, we should be looking to how CAR put their D together. On top of how good they already are, now they get AJ Bouye on the field too.

The Panthers are placing starting left guard Pat Elflein on injured reserve with a hamstring injury,
Jonathan Alexander of the Charlotte Observer reports. Elflein will have to miss a minimum of three weeks before returning.
Elflein injured his hamstring in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Saints, playing 23 offensive snaps before departing.
Coach Matt Rhule already had ruled out Elflein for Thursday’s game against the Texans.
Dennis Daley replaced Elflein against the Saints and is expected to start this week.
Cornerback A.J. Bouye will replace Elflein on the 53-player roster. Bouye served a two-game suspension.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Yeah true... their bold strategy with their 2020 draft class.
Panthers defense was awful during the 2019 season and they turned it around quickly. Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn. Hitting on a lower pick like Jeremy Chinn. Etc.
Funny how Derrick Brown is the guy you want now with all of our 2020 draft chatter. BORING pick idea back then, but turned out to be a key anchor for the Panthers D.
Take note, Lions.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Yeah, my dream was for them to take Simmons and Chin. Athletic and fast players on two levels.

Well the offense seems pretty much set now aside from WR and then possibly QB depending on how they think of Goff. They could certainly do an all defense type of draft though I wouldn't pass on value to force it. I actually think they have a group of good wide receivers. They just don't have a no.1 kinda guy unless Williams steps up.
We do have some young high potential defenders too from this draft. Parker and Bobby Price have been good so far undrafted. Melifonwu looked good with his weak areas being teachable things. Barnes looked great in preseason and has potential. Both the early pick D-lineman have looked good at times so far. They are just super weak at LB/S and lack high end athleticism from their edge guys. That and you can never be too deep at CB.Last edited by JGSpartan; September 22, 2021, 04:11 PM.

However, we have an avenue to get really good/great players. IMHO, the key is having a guy who knows wtf he's doing. Quinn was anointed that credibility and proved he, much like Millen, was way over his head.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The secret sauce...
Alex Guerrero: Bill Belichick treated Tom Brady like a 20-year-old kid, not a 40-year-old man

Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady‘s personal fitness guru and TB12 business partner, was often viewed as a source of discord between Brady and Bill Belichick. Guerrero’s latest comments do nothing to change that.
Guerrero told Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald that over their two decades together, Belichick never grasped the extent to which Brady had changed and grown and needed different coaching than he needed early in his career.
“The interesting thing I think there — and this is just me, an outsider looking in — it was like Bill never really . . . I think his emotions or feelings never evolved with age,” Guerrero said. “I think in time, with Tom, as Tom got into his late 30s or early 40s, I think Bill was still trying to treat him like that 20-year-old kid that he drafted. And all the players, I think, realized Tom was different. He’s older, so he should be treated differently. And all the players, none of them would have cared that he was treated differently. I think that was such a Bill thing. He never evolved. So you can’t treat someone who’s in his 40s like they’re 20. It doesn’t work.”
Guerrero has gone with Brady from New England to Tampa Bay, and he says everything about the Buccaneers franchise is just right for Brady at this stage in his career.
“This place, we have so much fun here. We have a great time,” said Guerrero. “They’re great here. Ownership is great. The coaching is great, the management is great.”
In New England, Belichick barred Guerrero from the team facility. In Tampa, Guerrero says he’s been welcomed with open arms at the team facility, and that a lot of Brady’s Buccaneers teammates join him for additional work at the TB12 training center that Guerrero has opened near the stadium.
“There’s a large group of [players] that come, I don’t know what the number is. But there’s a large group,” Guerrero said. “We have great support over here. The ownership is super supportive, the coaching staff is super supportive. The players are supportive. So it’s been great.”
The Buccaneers have shown Brady that they value him, and that means a lot to a person in Brady’s position. It’s something Belichick probably should have done more of.
