  • Anyone ever thought about Bob Quinn did everything in his power to erase everything that Mayhew put in place here, but MS and the GOAT.

Fails abound just like Con Drump trying to base all his time reversing everything Obama did, but taking credit for the economy that had been on the upswing 2 years before Obama left office.

The lesson here folks is being a hater hurts you more then the other guy. Class dismissed.

I'm genuinely curious because I made reference early in my international relations graduate studies that the "ology" is far more art than science. A stack of text books, countless hours of reading smart people's work, stacks of qualitative and quantitative examples, a few very patient professors, and a Capstone project later; I came to a very different and much more humble conclusion. My opinion (as meaningless as any other) is that there is as much "science" via empirical evidence employed in the study of all things political as there was in my aeronautics coursework. I was way more encouraged to question the "givens" of Machiavelli than I was to question Isaac Newton.

And if it is the latter point, it may be the specific school or professors I learned from, but not one of them attempted to apologize for states, or sub-states. In fact, the assignments typically challenged the governance by violence even in the face of empirical data that would support it works. The pursuit of understanding why violence is employed certainly didn't rationalize it as an appropriate measure of any sovereign collective, state or otherwise.

I'm trying to digest your message for the sake of dialogue, but that one sentence seemed as sideways as a morning pee through a grapefruit-sized swollen prostate.
The part about the professors and teachers rings true from my experience as well.

      • The snort was a direct reference to the use of the word "science" on social studies. The history I learned was that during the boom times of physics, it was the most celebrated arena of academics. The various "ology" departments started calling themselves "sciences" for prestige and, perhaps, funding. I further extrapolate that to the success of Newtonian mechanics and the "certainty" it offered at one time (the "end" of physics was near) and the appeal to the certainty paradigm of most Western thinkers.

My experience in graduate "ology" studies revealed that the further you went, the more mathematical it got (more "scientific.") As an applied statistician, I was taught to stay true to one rule: Beware any answer that offers more certainty than the uncertainty embedded in the problem - i.e. if you start out with an "estimate" and your model produces three-decimal place answers, you may have arrived at more certainty than you started with...

Human action doesn't fit such precise models so easily.

So it appears we came out of that question (why are they calling this a "science") with different conclusions, if I'm to read you correctly? It would appear that the more mathematical your studies became, the more you found them scientific?

Regarding your professors - that topic would take a good bit more interaction to understand how you're describing their approach.

The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

The Seattle Seahawks have fired their security manager after he was arrested on child pornography charges on Tuesday, according to Suzannah Frame of KING 5.

Aaron Miyasato, 41, had worked for the Seahawks since 2011, per his LinkedIn page. Miyasato was allegedly found in possession of over 25,000 images of child pornography and videos of children being sexually exploited.

A team spokesman told the station that they had reported the arrest to the league and that he no longer works for the team.

“We are aware of the situation and in accordance with the NFL personal conduct policy, we have notified the league of his arrest. This individual is no longer employed by our organization,” the statement said.

Miyasato began with the team as a part-time security officer in 2011. He’s being held in jail on $50,000 dollars bail.

                          • Trump has literally downed tools as US President. Pence is out meeting the National Guard troops (presumably because DC looking like Baghdad would be too embarrassing for Donny) and taking FBI briefings about the terror threat from his loathsome base.

Trump has been obsessed with his pathetic psychosis that he won the election while America is ravaged by the coronavirus and an assault on Congress.

Surely the most temperamentally unfit President ever to occupy office.

These are the seeds of things to come, my friends.

The most non-violent solution is peaceful secession - an agreement to disagree, and to part ways.

My question for you is: If secession becomes a real thing in this land, will you advocate peace? Or will you demand that those who disagree with you should be stomped into submission by your violent central state?

                              • I support secession. I advocate a peaceful parting of ways to resolve conflict.

I advocate States seceding from the SuperState.

I then advocate counties seceding from the states.

I then advocate townships seceding from the county.

I further advocate individuals seceding from the township.

A peaceful transition from centralization to decentralization.
