Look it up.
The incoming House of Representatives will decide who will be the President, the incoming Senate, Vice President.
Each Senator gets to vote.
In the House of Representatives, each state gets only one vote. The majority of states are Republican controlled.
Trump wins.
But you neglect to inform people that it only happens when the Electoral College cannot reach a consensus.
Right now, there IS a consensus.

He's as hopeful as some poor bastard sitting in his mom's basement thinking the Lions are Superbowl bound this year. They both have about the same shot at being right and happyTrickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Um...
Electorial College doesn't meet until December 14th.
I'd rather not entertain stupid possibilities that require a person to reject the overwhelming likelihood of reality.

"By the electoral laws of the states in question..."
And that is the issue in Pennsylvania, from what I have read thus far. The Pennsylvania State Supreme Court made law when it allowed ballots to be counted after the deadline established by the legislature.
Something like ten state Attorney Generals have written letters (don't have the time to look up the Latin term right now) to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Justice Alito stepped in last Friday to order all ballots after 8:00pm on election day to be set aside.
Michigan has it's problems.
As of now, no candidate has the 270 electoral votes.
This is why I made the prediction of a contingent election. We'll see.

As Republicans across the country escalate efforts to investigate credible allegations of fraud during the 2020 election, a group of ten Republican Attorneys General have filed an 'amicus brief' with the US Supreme Court in a case challenging the legality of late mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania.
AGs from Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Texas filed in Republican Party of Pennsylvania v. Boockvar, which challenges the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's late October decision to allow ballots arriving after Election Day to be counted - despite, as The Federalist notes - state laws mandating otherwise.

Michigan has no problems beyond the one computer glitch that was rectified THAT DAY, no matter what the Trump Campaign wants people to believe. There is no evidence, and no reason to think that 100,000+ votes were cast illegally.
None.
And it doesn't matter about the "late" ballots in Pennsylvania. Biden had overcome the deficit and taken the lead in the state WITHOUT THEM. The only thing those "late counted" ballots did was pad the lead.
You made the prediction of a contingent election because you seem to have gotten your education from Wikipedia, and have navigated life in a dimly lit haze. Congratulations, you know about obscure tie-breaking methods that can potentially be used. We'd need a tie game first, and the odds of that happening are minuscule. It's FAR more likely that all these lawsuits will succeed and TRUMP will win the electoral college outright... and even THAT is pitifully unlikely.
Just quit while you're behind.Last edited by chemiclord; November 10, 2020, 07:18 PM.

Reading is fundamental.....
Should no candidate get 270 electoral votes we will have a contingent election.
America has had three prior contingent elections.
Anything can happen. Suppose a few electors get fed up and cast their votes for someone else besides Trump or Biden?
In a contingent election, the House votes on the top three candidates. Some electors may agree to vote in a third candidate to run against Trump and Biden.
Ever think of that?
2020 has been a crazy year, don't count anything out.
