    • Not to break up this liberal love-fest with Christianity....but I'm pretty sure his views on homosexuality would have precluded him for running on the democratic ticket.

Liberals would treat him like they treat Bill Mahr...like some sort of uncle-tom who's mostly on their side, but needs to be punished and ostracized because he won't swallow every part of the ideology whole.

Because that's the way moderates (or anyone with a mind of their own) are treated these days.

      • Jesus's views on homosexuality were largely non-existent outside of him being largely against ANY sexual hanky-panky outside of marriage.

Translation issues are arguably the reason later versions of the bible specify man with man.

        • He was a Jew and believed in the Torah.
However he was around Prostitutes and others of I’ll repute.
He also had a positive view about Eunichs.
This is all verifiable in bible.
Need scriptures I’ll get them to you

Sure, maybe. I'm not a Biblical scholar (surprise), but my recollection is similar to Chemi's, there's no actual Jesus hot take on homosexuality.

But liberals are also not the ones trying to push a theocracy on the country based on the dude either.

            • And you view the Bible as a "historical document"?

Again...that document was voted on at committee (much like our highly functional system of Congress). It's not considered an accurate historical reference document outside of the vatican.

              • Uh, no? But when people who are Christians are like "Jesus says this, Jesus says that" they are referring to the bible. If you have a historical document that shares Jesus' views on homosexuality, then I'll be glad to learn. He was a Jew, so if he' following old school Judaism, then he probably would have deemed male homosexuality wrong.

                • On a different topic, Mitch McConnell just had another freezing episode. This country is fucked up relying on all of these old ass bastards to run shit. Can we please have some common sense bipartisan reforms for term and age limits?

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made a stop in northern Kentucky Wednesday, where during a media gaggle, appeared to have some trouble understanding and speaking with reporters.

But there's no actual "hot take" anywhere....Jesus IS the church. The church's views and Jesus views are the same. That's why they held the council of Nicaea in the first place....so they could vote on things they wanted to be true (and not necessarily what is true).

This whole argument is farcical and stupid...are you attempting to tell the religious right that god isn't on their side? and what purpose does this serve? Just to be petty, immature, and trying to invoke an emotional response?

It also seems a bit hypocritical to chide the GOP for pushing theocracy after witnessing the left weaponize race and gender.

I'm an agnostic...I really don't care. But I'll say this...both sides of every war in the past 2000 years (and maybe ever) have thought god was on their side (there's 50% accuracy rate on this approach), democrats and republicans are no different. I think that god thinks you're all stupid.

Correction: "God thinks We're all stupid". this way I'm not leaving myself out

                            • Getting money out of politics wouldn't have any effect on Cocaine Mitch's continued time. His matchups are like an NFL team playing a division 2 team. They amassed a mountain of cash in his last election to beat him and it was lit on fire. McGrath ran a credible race and came within 20 points of Mitch.

The only ones weaponizing race and gender are the folks at Fox News. They cover that crap 24-7 because it is a great wedge issue and it is tremendous for ratings. The Fox News hype men mainline that shit into their millions of viewers.

                              • At the end of the day, the American people demonstrate that they either want old men running things, or that they can't be arsed enough to put in the prolonged effort to oust said old men.
