For what it's worth, pretty much all the "panel" and "pundits" and anticillary shows that you find on Cable News designate their shows "entertainment" rather than "news."
Now admittedly, the major reason for that in most cases is because collecting citations and having them ready if challenged for every guest that appears on "Meet the Press" would be a fairly onerus process. The rigor and editoral review that even the smallest REAL news show has to go through before an investigative story hits the airwaves is NOT a quick or easy process.
However, it's also used basically as a cover for making shit up for the sake of a salacious story. Someone can show up on Carlson or Hannity or Maddow, say whatever they want, and all of those shows can shrug off any accountability as "we're not news, we're entertainment," even as they run on cable news networks.
