For awhile I had been watching the MacAfee show on one my monitors while I work. I haven't watched it in awhile, I found it a little repetitive. I mostly stick to Midsomer Murders and America's Test Kitchen. MacAfee is the best color commentator the WWE has had in a long time.

What baffles me is how so many on the right dismiss the vaccines as bullshit due to big pharma greed or political lobbying among other reasons. Then turn around and buy into Hydroxycloroquine or Ivermectin as if no one profits from those drugs or benefit from their donors either. I'm not naive enough to be a sheep to buy in completely to either side but I'm much more likely to believe one that's promoting vaccines in general rather than specific medicines.
Much like the vacuum salesmen of days gone by, the poor, less educated or/and rural people are more apt to fall for these false narratives. It's a reason those salesmen hit certain areas.

Again, people are neck deep in narratives and no amount of scientific truth and facts are going to deter their thinking. But we all should have our own Doctor that cares for our well being. He or She is the absolute best person to ask. If you don't feel comfortable asking them then you need a doctor you can believe in.

Ditto. I gave humanity too much credit. And Americans.
It's good that my parents didn't see what has happened to this society.
<sigh> Being AA I see more of the underbelly of humanity which is showcased in the shooting of AAs and subsequent acquittals (if they even have to go to trial) of murderers, traitors storming the Capitol w/o any regard to being jailed, Packer fans complaining, etc...
So I am less surprised then some other people to these people.
I think people have lost their way. As a Christian I fully believe what Edin wrote. When we turn away from these truths we also turn away from God in my opinion because this is his show. He has given us what we need to succeed, but Bubba Joe gets the love for his narratives.

This COVID virus is very virulent and changes to adapt to it's own survival, like an ameba, so we should be doing what ever we can to continue to survive until they can get a better handle on this.

University of Michigan expert explains why he thinks COVID pandemic will end in 2022
With the coronavirus spreading at an unseen rate in Michigan and beyond, it can be hard to imagine any end in sight.
But University of Michigan immunologist and professor Dr. Jim Baker says he thinks the pandemic will come to an end in 2022.
Dr. Baker joined us on Flashpoint this week to discuss the current state of the pandemic and its future.
“When we talk about pandemic, this huge wave of infection that goes around the world, we usually see a lot of different phases,” Dr. Baker explained to Devin Scillian on Sunday’s Flashpoint program. “The more people are immune to the virus, the more people have a vaccine, the less likely they’re going to have a serious effect from this.”
Dr. Baker has been keeping a pandemic blog and recently wrote about the pandemic ending this year.
“We have been focused on number of infections with COVID-19 because of the very sensitive and accurate diagnostic tests (PCR) we have developed. In contrast, as we look at the end of the pandemic, we now need to focus less on infections and more on deaths. That is truly the important marker of a pandemic’s impact and the only comparable measure to the 1918 flu epidemic where there were no diagnostic tests,” Baker wrote.
“In the 1917 flu pandemic, after the initial burst of infections and deaths, two waves of deaths followed, each one less impactful. This is how pandemics end; two “echo” waves each being less and less significant. It is because in each wave the most susceptible individuals have been killed off as the rest of the population develops immunity. A similar pattern was seen in the 2011 Influenza A pandemic and it has now emerged with COVID-19. This pattern shows the COVID-19 pandemic is burning out.”

In January 1919, a third wave of the flu hit Australia, where it killed around 12,000 people following the lifting of a maritime quarantine, and then spread quickly through Europe and the United States, where it lingered through the spring and until June 1919. It primarily affected Spain, Serbia, Mexico and Great Britain, resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths. It was less severe than the second wave but still much more deadly than the initial first wave. In the United States, isolated outbreaks occurred in some cities including Los Angeles, New York City, Memphis, Nashville, San Francisco and St. Louis. Overall, American mortality rates were in the tens of thousands during the first six months of 1919. I *think* (hope) that this shit is going to burn itself out and in the future there will be a yearly COVID shot available, maybe even combined with the flu shot.
Most people will get it. The tin-foil hat crowd will not. Darwin will smile from beyond.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

By most estimations the T and B cell response to COVID should last decades - it’s only neutralizing antibodies (which stop you getting infected at all) that last for a short time. It begs the question of how long this is sustainable as they certainly won’t be able to vaccinate the world every 3-6 months, swathes of the world aren’t even single jabbed.
I caught it after three jabs and can say it’s one of the mildest illnesses I’ve ever had - I’m hoping that should leave a robust immune response.
