I loved the Canadiens of the 70s, especially when they beat the Broad Street Bullies. But there's no way that Lafleur was a better skater than Orr, Coffey, and Fedorov.

So how are we doing on our picks anyway? I think I went 4-4 in the first round. Knew I should have taken Phoenix over Chicago because Smith has been on fire the last couple months but I just couldn't bring myself to pick a team that has never won a single playoff series.
I think it'll be the Rangers and Flyers in for the East in what should be an outstanding series. Lundqvist will be the difference as the Rangers advance to the finals. The West is superior in all phases, IMO. Any of the 4 remaining teams could will the whole damn thing but I'm taking Kings over Preds in the West final. SCF: LA over NY. |

At this point I don't really mind who wins. I guess I would like the Rangers since they are an original 6, Phoenix and Nashville meh |

I like the Rangers, too. Pulling for the Blues to come out of the West then Nashville.

Nah Packy just a little fun, can't believe Shanahan took that pic? LA / Philly SCF. Although Nashville is getting good goaltending too.

Not surprising that Shanny is a good sport.
Phoenix is looking really good right now but the series doesn't start until the home team loses a game. Nashville will be a mad house (and I have to admit I kinda like the maize-out thing they do). |

Wow Phoenix takes a 2-0 series lead over Nashville....maybe Bettman should buy a few more troubled clubs with League money. Certain there are many angry owners that didn't make the playoffs or an early exit must wonder how much more they will have to spend on Bettman's favorites? Directly competing against their own financial interests while subsidizing the failing Phoenix franchise?

Dale Hunter has "Sasha" Ovechkin benched most of the time, played 13 minutes but scored the game winner, earning the split in Manhattan. Dale Hunter has his team blocking shots, clogging shooting lanes, smell an upset.
LA rolls St. Louis 5-2 heading home with 2-0 series lead, looks grim for the Blues. NJ in serious financial trouble, one of the owners is facing bankruptcy, team will lose at least 6 M this year and the remaining ownership will not cover losses, expect them to dump 20 M in salaries. Wonder when it hits the players on the ice? Last edited by Optimus Prime; May 1st, 2012 at 02:43 PM. |

The Nashville Predators have suspended forwards Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn for cruising for chicks until 4 am while the rest of the team tries to regroup and respond to 0-2 start against Phoenix....that means the Predators now must win 4 of the next 5 games to stave of elimination, good luck.
Really like LA, Phoenix & Washington , couple of last place teams, no business in the playoffs preforming like their jobs depended on it....22 guys outworking their opponents, hungry. |

6 minutes to go in the 3rd OT and still playing...I should be sleeping, but sleep is overrated.
GOAL RANGERS!!!! Final score 2-1, ended with 5:19 to go in the 3rd OT. Fun game to watch. |
