Forum Pick-Um Money League.

I mentioned it one time before, I run a money pick-em league locally and was thinking of running it in the Forum. This thread is strictly to see if there is enough intrest. Channel 11 in GB actually uses this formula in a yearly contest, but I think they stole this idea from me cause I have been doing it longer.

Works like this,

pick the weekly winners,..... pick 2 games from each week as your "blowout" and "my Game",.....one point for every correct pick, ..... difference in blowout game score you picked added to that weeks score,..... total points from my game score you picked added to that weeks score,....... prizes for top 3 cumulative scores at season end.

I was thinking $20-$25 entry fee but that could be up for debate. I have run this through Yahoo, using the tiebreaker boxes for blowout & my game selections.

Intrested?

I'll join eventually. Are you going to make it so you drop the worst week so if a person misses a week he's not fucked?

Frank did it the year before last year. It works out pretty well if you get too busy or just forget to make your picks one week. Everybody's worst week is thrown out.

This is a money league, though. If you forget a week, you're a dumbass.

I was underway on my ship and missed a week last year.

The week that I only picked half of the games would certainly qualify me as a dumbass, however.

Oh geeze, lay the guilt trip on!

Anyways, wasn't sure that you caught on that it was a money league. I like dropping a week, also, but I'm only in it if it's free.

Upon further review, I agree that a mulligan is a good thing, however, as Deb stated, this is a money league and rather than dropping a week, I would prefer to defer that to a vote as needed. Problem is, you're not just picking the games, you're picking scores for two games as well. My feelings are, it is just as easy to pick weeks in advance and change them accordingly, that way if you do miss a week, you'll still receive points.

I missed a week last year while underway on my couch. I got lost in a bag of Cheetos, and it took about a week to work my way out.
