I'd be very okay with Suh learning slower and rotating in. Williams and Haynes would be a nice combo if he's motivated.

I agree Mark. While it does look sexy on paper and the money issued gets resolved, will AH come into Detroit and play like or at least give the effort like his former years with Ten? Myself and alot of others on here really don't have the patience for another bigger younger Shaun Rodgers. Maybe playing for Schwartz and with KVB would revive him. If it happens, (right now I am only givng it a 25% chance) and he plays with a purpose, OMG! The offensive line wouldn't know who to block.
5 Olineman to block our 4 DLineman. THe QB is still going to get pressure everyplay. Who's gonna block the blitzing Safety or LB? The RB? not the TE, hes out there as a safety valve. On each and every play one of our Dlineman will beat his man, except for the one that is double teamed. It may not matter who we sign for that other safety position. The opposing QB will not have the time to get the ball off on deep routes. Lastly, if it does happen and the line just dominates opposing Olines, that will induce excitement in other players to pick up their game. Other players will want to be in the endlines also. While I am trying desprately to temper my kool-aide induced enthusiasum, I would loved to see AH here with a good attitude.

DL, it sounds great, but how realistic is it? I want to be an optimist, but my optimism is about worn out after years of abuse by the Ford family. I hope there is some truth in what you say though!

Don't see Haynesworth going to NYG - WSH wouldn't be stupid enough to trade him to a division rival.
Snyder got dicked. boo hoo.

Wasn't Haynes making fun of Detroit when he was a FA? Would he even want to come here?

Albert Haynesworth, Ndamukong Suh, & Corey Williams each specialize at the "three-technique" DT position.
While Sammie Lee Hill is the "nose tackle" DT position. http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf...to_the_li.html In our base defense, we need a starting "three technique DT" & a starting "nose tackle DT." Thats why I had my depth chart like that. & I don't expect Suh to have that much of an impact as a rookie. Defensive line is the hardest position to transition to (from college to the pros). AND if Suh played half of the game's defensive plays in a rotation with Haynesworth, wouldn't that be great for both players?

We could use Haynesworth for the first 4 games, until Suh signs.

Good point. I just don't see management breaking in our #1 pick slowly. Expectations are immediate impact I believe. Doubt it will happen though |

My understanding is that it was mutual...he didn't like it and they wanted to find the ideal 3-4 DE. Never came across the "disgruntled" player article myself. |

All three can play the 5...Suh will be a better 5 than a 3 in the NFL IMO...
AH can do whatever he likes along the DL...He's that rare 340 lb DT SLH is also capable to play both spots...but my gut says he will be strictly a 5 in the future. The versatility of this group would be insane...And with these 4 DT's Suh surely would get reps at LE |

What's the story on paying back the bonus, anyway? I thought it was actually against the rules to do so, last I heard. Maybe I misunderstood that as well. That would certainly get him out of this PR jam he's in. If he can't pay it back to Snyder, and cares about salvaging his image, he should give a huge chunk to charity or establish a scholarship fund with it. As it is, he seems pretty content to let the media declare him a complete assbag. And if he truly is a complete assbag, I think I'd rather have him stay out of the honolulu blue. |

But a player can certainly pay it back of his own accord... for example, if its a stipulation for him wanting to go to another team.

I think he did make fun of Detroit last off-season, then at some point after the season started said something like "Detroit never contacted me, I hope they didn't take me seriously when I said I wouldn't go there"

Could it happen?
Certainly. Will it happen? Most certainly not. The Redskins want to win now; there's little the Lions could give them that they'd be interested in; at least among what the Lions would be willing to part with. I can't imagine the Lions giving the most appealing offer, nor do I think the Lions would go out of their way to provide such.

I suspect there will not be many teams willing to give up something to absorb his bloated contract. Unless the Skins structure a sign and trade, I can not see any NFL franchise giving up a premium player or high draft choice and take an underperforming contract off of their books. His history of injury makes it even more unlikely someone is going to risk the contract currently in place.
