NP has Porsche on the brain.

Speed and handling.

Someone else suggested a Subaru WXT (?), that kind of car would definitely fit the bill too.

WRX... those things are nice. They also have a flat six engine... same configuration as Porsche.

After being in a SUV for the past several years, I don't think I could go back to a car. But if I did, it'd be the new Taurus. Love the styling on that thing.
Yeah those fiestas get 40 mpg on the highway and reportedly are better than toyota (yaris + the a bunch of the scions) and hondas (fit) small car offerings in handling and fit and finish. Supposedly the focus coming out will get 40 mpg too but will be bigger than the current focus and in a different class of cars (the fiesta is sized more similar to the current focus).

Chevy also has a car coming out this year that gets 40 mpg. Doesn't look that great IMO but there will be a Buick version that hopefully looks better.

Oldsmobile was always my favorite car brand, I had a first generation aurora, but now I don't really have any particular allegiance to a brand though I always hope for the success of american companies.

The original Beetle was defnitely a hippie car not a chick car. They did not have flower holders, however ( I owned a couple). The new Beetle on the other hand is most certainly a chick car (as is the Miata...)

....and BMW Z3 or 4 (even though it was brought to light as a Bond car).

I personally want a ford flex based pickup truck. That would make a good ranger replacement.

And while I'm dreaming I'll add a turbo diesel and Manuel transmission and 30+ mpg on the highway.

But if I did, it'd be the new Taurus. Love the styling on that thing.

Im aging quickly. Traded in my Dodge Truck with all the bells and whistles for something practical, a Taurus (black at least) last month. So far so good, quite, a lot better on gas, and I seem to just 'blend in' with everyone else going down the road.

Saw this one at the Detroit Auto show. The Fiat 500. They plan an electric version of it as well. Should compete with the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt.
