Just heard on WXYT that Stafford didn't practice today so he is unlikely to play on Sunday.

Crap.

You can't base much on preseason....Fraquar explained the situation the game was like in the second half perfectly...Stafford wasn't winging it downfield in the second half either, because the defense was taking that away....there is nothing wrong with a QB taking what the defense is giving you...and that will happen when a team has big lead, and starts using more cover two to take away the downfield throws.

Stafford didn't practice again today which means he should not play Sunday......if he practices Friday it would still be possible, but for a rookie, against a complex defense like Pittsburgh that would be asking a lot.....if his knee isn't right, and it needs more rest to heal, he shouldn't play. Period.

It could be worse, they could have to throw JaMarcus Russell out there instead......

I can use the preseason actually. It was his first action as a Detroit Lion while in shape and under Linehan. It spoke volumes that he couldn't get the ball downfield, let alone 10 yards then.

He looked the same against the Bears. Not hard at all to see a QB that is done. Stanton should be #2 and DC should find a WCO exclusive team to play backup for.

Lions need to bring an -A- game to have a chance, ST included (DID YOU HEAR ME MR SULU?) ...PIT D isn't the same without Polamalu, however I heard earlier this week he may be back this week, so we'll see. Gunt'a needs to bring some heat on Cheeselessberger and things might get interesting. Concerning QB.. as much as everyone is shitting on DC it could be worse..Ty Detriment anyone???

OK, fine. Let Cullpepper start and the lions will get trounced. The defense will be on the field most of the day and Rothenberger will set a new nfl record for passes and td's. The lions may get shut out and then finally the culpepper arguments will finally be put to rest. If MS isn't ready its cool if he sits this week and gets a bye week. He should be more than fine for the next game 3 weeks from now.

I will say this much for Culpepper.. At least last week his dump offs to the check downs weren't 200mph and behind them or over their heads. I've seen Stafford do that ALOT even to the check downs. Culpepper completed those.

I haven't noticed that from Staffords' checkdowns myself. Guess I should pay more attention.

I'm excited to see Levy start again. Supposedly they want him in on every package. I also will be watching Follet with interest on special teams.

Man, I thought most of Culpepper's passes were behind the receiver.

I expect Culpepper to do better this week. Getting all the reps in practice should help. Starting should help. And so on. This will be his audition tape for future gigs, IMO.

Oh, but the Lions will likely get their asses handed to them.

Levy is starting also... assuming for Sims then at least Sims could improve the kick and punt coverage teams.

Hill didn't practice today...highly unlikey he will play. White didn't practice either, so it will probably be Hunter and Avrill at DEs again...Jackson and Cohen at DTs.
