They ain't making JBC the head coach. If they don't get Patricia, they sign Vrabel.

You can't beat smart combined with tough. It's also nice that he's a DC who's had an offensive background as well.
Millen went to Penn State, ranked fairly high, about equal to RPI. Millen played linebacker, which makes him pretty tough. How did smart and tough work out last time?

I have nothing to counter that with.

I have no idea if Patricia will be good, but he has been the DC for 6 seasons of the most successful team in football. He has been a coach for nearly 20 seasons, he is as ready as you can be to be a head coach. Millen had no executive or front office experience, he wasn't ready and he no idea what he was doing, that was evident in the first 3 months on the job.

And he's smart and tough!

I'd take his smarts over the smarts of Millen who struck me as an overrated intellect.

Maybe the Lions can hire him in 24 days.
Woohoo for this continous coaching search and 24 more days of “speculation!”

Not if the Giants hire someone before then. Then we win the prize, yay

Not necessarily. Article above said that only way lions don't get Patricia is if he gets cold feet and stays in new England with belechek. So we most likely won't know for sure until patriots lose a game or win superbowl.

I may be crazy..... but my thinking when I read the stuff from NY writers the last week is that it’s pure bravado.

They can’t ever grasp the concept that a coach could choose Detroit over NY. Detroit has better talent and NY is seriously dysfunctional, from the field to ownership to the media....everyone wants a say.

Me when the Lions announce the hire of Vrabel:

(Only partially. I trust Quinn and love this gif... going down with the ship (Lions) for life!)

Yeah, and not only that it puts the Lions at a slight competitive disadvantage for the offseason. Senior Bowl practices are going to be starting soon as well as other college all-star games and it would be nice to have a coach in place to work with Quinn to go over personnel and also scouting players that fit the particular scheme that coach would like to run.
