  • Just got back from Genesys. Liney's surgery got delayed so he was still in the recovery room when I got there. Mrs Liney saw him on his way to the RR and the doc said he was fine, whatever that means. Lots of Liney family was there so when they announced he was leaving recovery I decided to leave, not to get in the way of family.

On the way out, I handed Mrs Liney a stack of porn, telling her this is what the patient specifically ordered...

    • Hilariously sick.

        • If he gave Mrs Liney a stash of porn, I never saw it.

Doing well today, feel like my belly was smashed with a sledgehammer.

Hope to go home not later than Thursday.

                • Its 11:25 am on Thursday May 12, 2016, and I'm back home from the hospital. All went well in the surgery, and I'm on the mend.

The pathology report came back and discovered that cancer had indeed begun in the large polyp in my colon. However, the report said that it was a "thin line" of cancer, and that it was completely contained in the polyp, and that nothing had leaked thru the colon wall. Nothing has spread to my lymph nodes. I do not need radiation or chemo.

I took this about as far as I could take it without getting a much more serious diagnosis. I am a very fortunate man today.

Had I gotten my first colonoscopy back 10 years ago when my family doctor suggested it, I wouldn't have had this problem today. The polyp would have been found, and removed routinely during the colonoscopy. I had a total of 7 polyps during my exam, six were removed with the colonoscopy. I've spent 3 days in the hospital getting the 7th one removed. I've agonized over this for the past 3 months when I was told there was blood in my stool. I'm relieved, and thankful today that I didn't put it off any longer.

Just consider this my hearty endorsement of colonoscopies.

Sorry to air my personal situation in here so graphically and all that, but believe it or not, I do really care about you guys. We all have families, friends and loved ones that we do not want to leave prematurely. Especially when tests like this can find problems early, and have them taken care of so easily.

If you've never had one done, get it done soon guys. Don't be foolish like me, and put it off.

                  Thanks
