Rockford Files is the reason I decided to swap my orders from Elmendorf AFB Alaska to Travis AFB Ca.

Coming from Michigan I had had enough of snow & cold and figured what I had seen of Rockford re-runs was what Cali was like. Little did I realize that SOUTHERN Cali was sooooo different than NORTHERN Cali where Travis was.

Henry Hartsfield also died.

He was chosen as an astronaut after Apollo 11 and was the pilot on the on the 4th space shuttle mission (Ken Mattingly was commander).

He also commanded 2 space shuttle missions of his own and then moved into several high management roles at NASA.

I'm super suprised by this one.

He was in rehab again for "an adjustment." Must of been too much this time.

Guy was witty as all get out, w/ or w/o the drugs coursing through his veins.

Bummer for all of with this loss.
