                  • Former Detroit Lions first-round draft pick Reggie Rogers has been found dead at his Seattle home, according to a report from the Seattle Times.

Rogers, a standout defensive tackle for the University of Washington from 1984-86, was selected No. 7 overall by the Lions in the 1987 NFL draft.

Considered one of the biggest draft busts of all time, Rogers played just 11 games in two seasons for Detroit.

During his second year with the organization, he was involved in a car accident in Pontiac, Mich. that killed three teenagers. Rogers ran a stop sign and it was determined his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.

Rogers suffered a broken neck in the accident and served 16 months in prison for negligent homicide.

After his prison term, he returned to play parts of two more seasons in the NFL with Buffalo and Tampa Bay.

According to KIRO-TV in Seattle, Rogers continued to have legal issues throughout his life, including five additional DUI convictions.

                    Rogers was 49 years old.
Rogers, 49, battled off-field demons his entire life. He was released by the Lions in 1989 after just two seasons when he killed three teenagers and broke his neck in a drunk driving accident.
