I don't even know if I'm going to watch this game. Snowmobile season is on, although in the early phase with below average conditions.

We'll be camping and fishing Jalama Beach this weekend (70 degrees). I'm going down tomorrow to set up. The others to straggle in over next couple days.

I'm not wasting a beautiful December w/e on this stuff.

DVR is set though.

C'mon guys. It's the best comedy show of the year. Who will screw themselves to a loss? The Boars or the Lyins?

Proper perspective makes for a delightful watch

My prediction.....Lions will squeeze out a win this week against another awful team, giving hope to delusional fans for an extra week, then will lose against the Bengals as they always do (Bengals have won the last 5....8 of the last 9).

No, truly crushing for the true believers is to eek out two wins over the Bears and Bengals and then lose at home to the Packers and Erin on NYE.

That is how I have it.

Oh, and the capper, 9-7 would probably ensure another year of Caldwell.

The defensive game plan to beat the Bears is to stop the run and force the rookie to pass to their lame ass receivers. Offensively, "establish the run"-- that's the soft part of their defense. The Lions don't match up well at all.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Bears win by at least 10 points.

I could definitely see that....anything goes. I do think if the Lions win it will be ugly as always.....if there is a beatdown it will be the Bears doing it and lots of booing.

I must admit, that would be the way of this current era, to have everything fall into place that magically they do have a chance to get in the playoffs, only to blow it to Rogers and the Packers. Bottom Line----I have been a fan for over 40 years.....there are so many ways this will go wrong.....its just how.

Why? Such a loss at home with the whole football world watching speeds the removal of Caldwell.

Main - you know he is coming back and nothing that happens the last 3 weeks changes that.

I have this fantasy that the Lions win out and squeak into the playoffs. They go on the road and play a tough wild card game but lose a close one.

But wait ... this fantasy gets even better ...

On Monday after the game, Quinn fires the entire coaching staff, proving once and for all that he, not Martha, is actually in charge of this team.

I know, SOL and all that, but I put Caldwell's chances of being here next year at around 10%. Even if they sneak into the playoffs, this season has already been a failure -- no measurable improvement anywhere.

Quinn has gotten a free ride up to this point, but it's all on him starting this offseason. You can question some of his decisions, but he doesn't sound completely stupid. He'd have to be an idiot to attach his career path to Caldwell at this point. And yes, I believe Martha will give him the freedom to make that decision on his own. That "extension" spoke volumes.

They finish the year 0-3 and have a 2-6 record at home? I think he's shown the door.

But 9-7 he stays. 8-8 highly likely he stays too.

I was thinking about Caldwell's contract extension. I wonder if there's a trigger to the effect that, if he's the coach X days after the season ends, that the 2019 season would become guaranteed. Otherwise why would Caldwell agree to non-guaranteed out years.
