Thanks Deb! These days I am so happy I could puke! Figuratively speaking, of course.

Dan Miller@DanMillerFox2
Plenty of time to add more defense. This kid is a huge get. Forget tight end. This is your third receiver. Matchup nightmare.

SMMFH

Don't try to justify it kid. It was another brain fart.

The only way MILLENHEW can save himself is if he trades BP or JF during the off-season/season for something solid next year.

Don't count on it.

So you're saying if we could have combined them in to one player that it would have been a good pick up?

Sam Martin@SamMartin_6

Another dirty TE to compliment @BigJoeFauria, how can you cover both? Our tightend core is stacked.

Detroit Lions: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina: C+ Grade
I can't say I'm crazy about this pick. There's a reason tight ends have fallen in recent years, and Eric Ebron is viewed as a slightly overrated prospect. Talented tight ends can be acquired later, especially with Jace Amaro, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Troy Niklas available in Round 2. I don't hate this selection though because Matthew Stafford needs more weapons, and Ebron is definitely an upgrade over the disappointing Brandon Pettigrew.

Thats great Sam but Joe usually had single coverage last year and they rarely got the ball to him....

I'd like to claim it was a panic move when Gilbert and Barr went off the board right in front of them, but they probably would have taken Ebron anyway.

Can't wait for them to trade back into round 1 to get Brandin Cooks! More weaponzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's Mike Evans 2.0.

Caldwell, Lombardi, and the Lions can flex this to a division title, methinks.

More wine!

Nope. Bill will only step in when he thinks there is a problem with the process.

  • WHAT HE BRINGS

Ebron isn't a powerful blocker. He dropped too many passes last year and his effort is inconsistent, yet he's a good value pick at this point in the first round and the reason is he's a dangerous receiver. He has the speed to stretch the field and body control to make plays downfield, plus the burst and wiggle to produce after the catch. He's also a nightmare matchup for defensive coordinators. If you try to match up with a linebacker, he can separate underneath or get behind the coverage. If you try to match up with safety, he does a nice job of getting inside leverage and using his frame to box out.
