With Clemens and Bonds it still is gray. There's a good chance that the evidence against Bonds gets tossed.

Interesting analogy on the radio. Compared A-Rod using steriods in '03 (no MLB rules for it?) to his pals using ritalin to prepare for/pass his board exams.

Almost everyone will do what it takes to gain an edge.

Bonds may be able to eject evidence by lawyer's tricks... but the damage really is already done. Same with Clemens. They used. Even Bonds has indirectly admitted his Body by BALCO. His defense (bear in mind) is that he didn't know what he was taking was steroids.

They're just trying to weasel out of legal culpability at this point.

It didn't. People started coming out of the woodwork, information continued to get leaked, and now they're living in a world of denial with a general public that hates them both.

That was the road A-Fraud saw. He knew the jig was up, and to keep playing the denial game wasn't going to end well. So he finally copped after he felt he had no choice but to minimize the damage. That's not courage or integrity. He's no better than any fool finally caught in a lie.

He's spinning for public approval now.
And he's got it. You seem unhappy about that.

If he's not thrown in jail, the damage isn't done.

It's a Clinton world now, "deny" "deny" "deny" "oh snap, she kept the dress" "I am sorry"

FIFY. Anyhow, A-Rod did not deny, deny, deny, but he could have. The dog did nothing in the night; that was the strange thing.

Why? He lied. He admits he lied. What else about the Couric interview intrigues you?

"I can't add much to this other than I'm a humanist. Alex Rodriguez has confessed to a wrongdoing. You can condemn him for the wrongdoing, but for this act he has my admiration."
----------------------------He confessed alright after seeing Bonds and Clemens both deny it vehemently only to have more and more proof come out and make them pariahs of the game. Only an idiot would now continue in that lost path. He did the only thing he could do, and what he was counseled to do btw not what he thought was right, and he has your admiration. LMFAO. Then when he does come out and admit it he offers numerous "excuses" begging for forgiveness. If he was any kind of real man, with true integrity, he would have just come out and said I did it, I was wrong, it was stupid, I haven't done it since, and I'll never do it again. To stand there and offer excuse after excuse is shouting "it wasn't my fault". No integrity.

You won't see any of these guys deny it from here on out. Their little secret is no longer and denying it is foolish and detrimental. If A-Rod was the first to be accused of this he would have denied his ass off. Admiration. LOL.

Mission accomplished. Somebody had to have the balls to be first.

Not to change the subject, but Nate Silver has again diverted his attention from POTUS to PECOTA. He picks the Tigers to go 78-84.

"Somebody had to have the balls to be first."
---------------------BALLS???? It didn't take any balls. He did what was in his best interest. If he thought lying at this point was in his best interest he would have done that. Why else was his initial response talk to the union. He had to buy time to find out what his answer "should be" at this point. If Bonds and Clemens had gotten away with their lies then going against that trend would take balls and be worthy of admiration. He simply did what was best, and the only thing he could do. That doesn't take balls. Again, in doing so he offerred all kinds of excuses as to why it wasn't his fault. No BALLS.

You don't have to agree.
Well, in A-Frauds words, his "Millions of fans will be disappointed" in him.

That's mighty modest of him to recognize that he has MILLIONS OF FANS.

I certainly have never been one. Before or after this turn of events.

------------------------No one else has been called out. Sheesh. If they did however that would show some balls and be worthy of respect.

Really?

Think Bonds gets into the Hall of Fame? I don't, the crowning jewel of a player's career, and right now, he's not getting in.

Think his records will stand? Baseball doesn't need a conviction. If they deem there's enough evidence to deem his records were tainted, he's out of the record books.

Basically, he's on the precipice of losing everything he juiced up for to begin with.

Yeah... no damage done at all.
