    • How did i miss that Wallace Gillberry was let go by the Lions?

I just heard on MNF that he was cut by Detroit after getting injured.

      Totally missed that move.

      • Yea I totally forgot about Gilberry too.
Just assumed he was one of those pass rushers that never can put pressure on the opposing QB.

That must be part of the reason why Zettel has received a lot of snaps recently.

Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

          • Defensive interior: Earl Mitchell, Miami Dolphins, 85.8

Miami got DT Earl Mitchell back from injury this week, and he showed them just what they had been missing during his time in the trainer?s room with one of the best games of his career. Mitchell made three defensive stops, including one absolutely crushing play against the run where he bulldozed through the line and killed the run deep in the backfield while Miami was backed up against its own goal line.

Defensive interior: Ndamukong Suh, Miami Dolphins, 85.6

Mitchell is joined on the team of the week by his teammate, Ndamukong Suh, which won?t surprise anybody that was watching the game. Suh posted a sack, hit, and two hurries, as well as a pair of batted passes and four defensive stops. Suh was at his disruptive best in this game and made a significant impact against both the run and pass.

                    • It Is What It Is ? Kyle Van Noy happy with Patriots: ?Wouldn?t you have fun if you didn?t play that much and then you start playing??

                      itiswhatitis.weei.com

FOXBORO ? It wasn?t the greatest two-and-a-half years for Kyle Van Noy with the Lions, who selected him in the second round of the 2014 draft.

Van Noy played in 30 games over the two-plus seasons and had a total of 35 tackles and a sack.

The linebacker was traded to the Patriots the week before the team traded Jamie Collins and after taking a few weeks to adjust to New England, Van Noy has been one of the defense?s best players the past three games, picking up both a sack and his first career interception.

The BYU product appears to be having a lot of fun on the field, which comes with being used as a pass rusher, something he wasn?t able to do much of with the Lions.

?Wouldn?t you have fun if you didn?t play that much and then you start playing? Yeah, it?s good,? Van Noy said. ?It?s fun to play the game of football. It?s a kids? game at the end of the day and, you know, we?re blessed to have the opportunity to get paid a lot of money to do it. You?ve got to have fun, even on the days when it?s a grind and all that. You?ve got to dig deep and find a reason and usually it?s being around a group of guys like we have here to enjoy the game.?

Van Noy has played 29, 28 and 40 snaps in the last three games ? his first three as a Patriot.

?You just want to help out the team to win and prepare each week like you?re the starter,? Van Noy said. ?It?s a work in progress and we?re just trying to get as good as we can and ready for the playoffs and ready to win each game.?

Bill Belichick praised Van Noy earlier on Wednesday, as it isn?t easy to join the Patriots midseason and pick things up.

It?s also worth noting he was the signal caller Sunday when Dont?a Hightower was out of the game.

?He started off well right away,? Belichick said. ?He came in and learned things and picked things up. Again, with a player like Kyle, part of it is just getting to know him, just getting to work with him, getting to know what he ? things he does well, things he picks up on quickly, things that are instinctive to him and maybe things he hasn?t done before.?

                          • Reggie Bush Becomes 1st RB In NFL History To Finish Season With Negative Rushing Yards

"Last week, an interesting stat came to light involving Reggie Bush on pace to make NFL history. Today, he cemented his place as statitsically having the worst season by a running back in NFL history.

Just how bad was Bush?s season? After the loss to the Jets today, the once electrifying player finished the season with negative rushing yards, -3 to be exact. He becomes the first running back ever to reach such a mark (with 10-plus attempts).

He beats out the previous record, which was 4 yards, courtesy of Charlie Smith in 1971. Clarence Davis also had 4 yards on 14 carries in 1978, though he only played two games.

Bush finished with negative 8 rushing yards in the Bills? loss on Saturday, which also knocked them out of the playoffs. The game put him in the negatives for the season. Bush needed only 3 yards Sunday to avoid the record, coming up 3 shy.

All in all, the Buffalo Bills paid $1.5 million to have three yards taken away from them."
