Lightbulb The 2017 *JD* MICHIGAN Over/Under Predictions Contest!

By request, I am bringing a Michigan Football version of a contest I've been running in the Pistons Forum for the last several years.

To have your entry count, make your predictions by kickoff of the Michigan vs. Florida game. You get 10 points for every correct answer. There may be a prize at the end of this. We'll see. At the very least, you get bragging rights.

Since this is Year 1, I'm going to start off fairly simple and see how that works out. There will be 20 questions. Copy and paste the questions below and fill in your prediction. Answer with an OVER or UNDER. Any question that doesn't name a player or coach is a question about The Team, The Team, The Team. Not about opponents.

Let's go! (blue)

If "regular season" or "post-season" is not specified, should we assume regular season or all games? (e.g. Rushing Yards for Chris Evans)

Interesting dose of optimism at the end from Wingsfan there.

Speight TDs is a tough one. He can get 5 more TDs in his second year as a starter, but on the other hand he's got freshman WRs rather than seniors.

1) Regular Season Wins: 9.5
UNDER

2) Starts by John O'Korn: 1.5
UNDER

3) Catches by DPJ: 44.5
UNDER (too much star power to spread the ball around to, and not enough talent at QB)

4) Rushing Yards for Chris Evans: 1100.5
UNDER (too much depth and shaky OL)

5) Passing TD's by Wilton Speight: 22.5
UNDER

6) Sacks by Rashan Gary: 8.25
UNDER (but we'll get lots of sacks as a team)

7) Sideline Penalties Called on Jim Harbaugh: 0.5
OVER (should happen first weekend)

8- Pick 6's by the Defense: 1.5
UNDER

9) Fumbles Returned for a TD by the Defense: 1.5
UNDER

10) Longest Made FG: 52.5 Yards
UNDER

11) TD Catches for Nico Collins: 4.5
UNDER (see DPJ comment above)

12) Games we shutout an Opponent: 0.5
OVER

13) Total TD's for Khalid Hill: 8.5
OVER

14) INT's Thrown by Speight: 6.5
OVER

15) Kickoff/Punt Returns for TD: 0.5
UNDER

16) Starts for Aubrey Solomon: 3.5
UNDER

17) Plays for Dylan McCaffery: 0.5
UNDER

18- Players Voted 1st Team All-B1G: 3.5
OVER (At least three of McCray, Gary, Hurst, and Winovich, plus at least one guy on offense)

19) Wins vs. tosu: 0.5
UNDER

20) Post-season Wins (includes B1G Championship Game): 1.5
UNDER

1) Regular Season Wins: 9.5 -- OVER (HARBAUGH!!!!)

2) Starts by John O'Korn: 1.5 -- UNDER (Holy fuck, way under)

3) Catches by DPJ: 44.5 -- UNDER (too many WRs -- I do expect Black and DPJ to eventually surpass McDoom and Crawford, but there is still Martin -- the most polished prospect in the history of Western Ontario sports)

4) Rushing Yards for Chris Evans: 1100.5 -- OVER (I drafted him as my 2nd RB in my B10 league. He may not get as many carries as I like, but he gets 200 I think he's golden so -- so 15 for 85 yards per game)

5) Passing TD's by Wilton Speight: 22.5 -- UNDER. So Rudock threw 20 and Speight threw 18. Too much handoffery in the 2nd half of blowouts.

6) Sacks by Rashan Gary: 8.25 -- UNDER. This is a tough number.

7) Sideline Penalties Called on Jim Harbaugh: 0.5 -- UNDER.

8- Pick 6's by the Defense: 1.5 -- OVER.

9) Fumbles Returned for a TD by the Defense: 1.5 -- OVER.

10) Longest Made FG: 52.5 Yards -- UNDER.

11) TD Catches for Nico Collins: 4.5 -- UNDER. I think not even close.

12) Games we shutout an Opponent: 0.5 -- OVER. Rutgers.

13) Total TD's for Khalid Hill: 8.5 -- UNDER. Poacher and all, that's a huge number.

14) INT's Thrown by Speight: 6.5 -- OVER.

15) Kickoff/Punt Returns for TD: 0.5 -- OVER.

16) Starts for Aubrey Solomon: 3.5 -- UNDER.

17) Plays for Dylan McCaffery: 0.5 -- UNDER.

18- Players Voted 1st Team All-B1G: 3.5 -- UNDER

19) Wins vs. tosu: 0.5 -- OVER. Based on Mgo readership, this seems like the easiest pick of the bunch!

20) Post-season Wins (includes B1G Championship Game): 1.5 -- UNDER.

Tiebreaker? Fuck that shit. No one else is going to knock out all 20, so fuck that shit.

You lost all fucking credibility right out of the gate with me!

There's not a single fancy stat or prognostication that doesn't have 8 - 9 regular season wins with most of them giving a lean to 8. HARBAUGH!!!! may get M to 9 but 10? No way.

To get to 10 wins M has to beat 3 of FLorida, @PSU, @ Wisconsin and osu and not drop a game they should win on paper ...... and ha, ha, that never happens.

So, not going to happen and one of the stupidest things you have ever posted here.

Helllo

At least your calling the outcome of the osu game correctly. Good call.

To be clear, they only need to go 2-2 in those games, and beating Florida is a mortal lock.

No, Oracle, I'm serious. Maybe I wasn't clear. There are four games that M could go 2-2 as talent points out and get to 10 wins. But I can say with 99% certainty that M will lose a game they shouldn't that will keep them from getting there.

I weep when I go back in history and think about those unexpected losses that Bo or Mo or LLLLLoyd dialed up. Even HARBAUGH!!! has logged 1 holly shit how did that happen loss in his short career (Iowa in 2016). You could actually count 2 more: an almost certain win squandered in the 4th quarter/OT @ osu in '16 and the miracle win by MSU in '15 off a botched punt.

History is not on the side of that not happening.

I would have thought IU might be one until Kevin Wilson was fired. I cannot imagine Debord being competent and running an offense like Wilson did but you never know. The Debord hiring would seem to have diminished the probability of losing that one.

I can see a loss @Maryland. Harbaugh has yet to produce a convincing road win. The Gophers are not chopped liver either. Yeah, there coming to AA but ...... who knows.

Everyone gets up to beat M and it has been too often that M has not been up to the challenge for whatever reasons.
