The team is gelling. I'm hoping sometime between now and next November, Teske makes the leap from serviceable rotation-player to a guy who can get the occasional double-double, with a couple of blocks.

I'd say Beilein outcoached Izzo today. Nick Ward was completely erased, and by Beilein sending a double-team at him every time he got the ball down low, he actually caused Ward to be a liability.

Sidenote, about the other team: JJJr. is a beast! I hope he's a 1-and-done for spartie.

Agreed. Simpson is getting better game by game and Livers is ahead of schedule. Got our resume win; now go get the statement win @ Purdue. They're not scary.

I don't know how you can watch Purdue and not be impressed by them.

They're really good. One game sample for each in terms of other games I've seen, but they look better than MSU, which I'm sure will pull out of its funk at some point though.

When I say they aren't scary, I mean Michigan can beat them next week. Purdue shot 12-21 from 3 last week, and Wagner had 4 points I think? Michigan still played them very tough. I know it's a lot to ask of a young team to beat the two best teams in teh conference in their own gyms, but they have a real shot at that game.

It's a matchup of adjustments in particular with these two frontcourts. Really looking forward to watching it.

Yes, Michigan looks as good as any team in B1G. Purdue - M was decided by refs in Purdue's favor. Michigan has a younger team that is improving faster. Ohio State -- I don't know. We certainly played them relatively even on the road. Feb 18 in Ann Arbor will be a big game (against OSU). OSU doesn't have to play at MSU this year, though.

Maryland vs M SHOULD be another win. Maryland has been destroyed on the road twice recently.
One of their core sophomores, Justin Jackson, is out for the season. Unfortunate because it was entertaining to see the trio of Huerter, Cowan, and Jackson... the big three freshmen that played with Trimble last year. Seems like they have been limping since then.
They also have a couple freshmen and a 7 footer in the rotation.

It'll be hard to predict. Lots of teams on their own journeys of in-season improvement in addition to ours, incl OSU and MSU. OSU could end up at the top. They're there now. Purdue is the mature one.

Nice win. Wish I could have watched it in full, but the local Fox affiliate is still a no-no on DirecTV, so I had to catch the re-air on FS1 (which was heavily edited).

Just gotta hold serve against the underdogs now.

Need to get this today then get almost a week off. JB teams generally bounce back well after a tough loss and big win. Should be a 10 pt win if we take care of biz.

Quick turnaround. But, yeah. Room for very few bad losses here. They'll have one stinker, surely. Need to split the remaining OSU and Purdue games. I think they can beat Purdue though.

What a finish. They almost pissed that one away in the end. That inbound pass was unbelievable!

What a great game!
MAAR with ice in his veins. What a pass by Livers too.

Michigan desperately needs a point guard. Simpson is a fine passer but cannot shoot and cannot make a free throw. UM lucked out tonight, but Simpson will cost us as the season goes forward. Beilein won this game tonight with the inbounds play from the baseline.

Simpson should take some free throw instruction from Andre Drumond.

He needs to make those and may still later on. But that's pretty drama queeny, he's by far the best PG we have and is already upper tier in the B1G. He's not Derrick Walton or trey Burke and that's about as bad a thing we can say with how he's played. He's saved our season.

He needs to be the in-bounder. Something JB has to fix, but no doubt he's letting Simpson work through it. All confidence.

Let's not forget what he brings on defense. Man its so nice after all these years to have a Michigan player that can be in somebody's hip pocket like that.
