        • Can you get a temporary handicap sticker for your car? That could make things easier.

          • Would a Lions sticker count as a permanent handicap sticker?

Yes but, it would take a couple of weeks to get documentation for it and a day to the SOS office to get it.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

              • Ah, ok. I thought maybe his doctor could just give him one.

                • I'm not sure because I have never gotten one but, I don't think the docs have them to hand out. I think they have to sign a form that has to be submitted to the SOS and they issue a temp, then if one wishes, they can buy a plate that is more permanent.

                  • Just did some searching on this. Handicap permits are either temporary or permanant (red vs. blue) Red permits can not be renewed, blue permits are good for for years and can be renewed without a doctors signature.

A vehicle used to transport a permanently disabled person may qualify for a disability license plate when the vehicle owner resides at the same address as the permanently disabled person. The plate may be issued for passenger type vehicles, pickup trucks, and vans. Commercial vehicles and trailers are not eligible. A physician?s certification is not needed if the applicant has a permanent disability parking permit, which is not expired, or another disability plate in his or her name.

                    Reasons for a permit

                    a) Blindness. Corrected acuity level: 20/______ 20/_____ 20/______ ___________________
                    b) An inability to walk more than 200 feet without having to stop and rest. Please provide the diagnosis for this ambulatory
                    disability:_______________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___
                    c) Patient must use a wheelchair, walker, crutch, brace or other ambulatory aid to walk.
                    Describe: __________________________________________________ _________________________________________
                    d) Patient has a lung disease from which the forced expiratory volume for one second, when measured by spirometry, is less than one liter, or from which the arterial oxygen tension is less than 60mm/hg of room air at rest.
                    e) Patient has a cardiovascular condition that measures between 3 and 4 on the New York Heart Classification Scale, or that renders the patient incapable of meeting a minimum standard for cardiovascular health established by the American Heart Association and approved by the Michigan Department of Community Health.
                    f) Patient has an arthritic, neurological or orthopedic condition that severely limits ability to walk.
                    Describe: __________________________________________________ _________________________________________
                    g) Patient has a persistent reliance upon an oxygen source other than ordinary air.

You can't park there because she's under age? I never knew that?? There is no requirement to enter the casino when you park there, you can go straight to the street level from the elevator so that seems odd to me. Also, I would think any establishment that has a hotel (like the casino does) would not turn away anyone who is under age from their establishment. Of course you can't go on the casino floor if you're under age.

                          • I have a red handicap sign so I am able to park in handicap spaces until january 2014,I know there is a lot by the stadium but $40.00 is alot to pay for parking, as thinking of going to nemo's to eat and ride their shuttle. I tried to park at the casino ramp at a game with my son 2 years ago and they wouldn't let me because he was a minor. I also have 2 Lions stickers on my car and a Lions license plate, so I am covered as mentally handicapped!!
