    Dear Coleen,
I?m 20 and always short of money. I live with my parents and work as a receptionist but I never have enough cash to make it through the month.
I love going out, buying clothes and want to enjoy nice holidays and get my own place but I just can?t see that ever happening.
A friend recently told me about a local escort agency. She said you can make really good money and all you need to do is go on dates with older guys ? either to restaurants or parties ? and pretend to be their girlfriend.
You don?t have to have sex. I?m pretty and I know I?d probably get taken on at the agency.
I don?t see it as prostitution and I think it would be a good way of making some quick money. Do you think there are any risks?
    Coleen says..
On paper it sounds like a great deal ? you accompany a rich man to a nice party, look pretty on his arm and make hundreds.
In reality, it?s not that straightforward. For a start, the agency will take a commission.
While escort girls always start off thinking they?ll never have sex with the men they meet, they often end up doing just that.
You?ll get used to the cash and one night a man may offer to pay extra if you have sex.
Escorting can be a slippery slope to prostitution. If you do start earning good money, it can be hard to go back to ?real life? and a regular job. What if you got a boyfriend? What would he think?
Lastly, what about safety? My alarm bells are ringing loudly for you. Why don?t you take the longer ? but less demeaning ? route to success and work hard? You?re only 20.
You?ll feel so much prouder of yourself if you do things properly.

------------------------because she's lazy. Doing the escort thing is really a waste. She can just find a successful man and, if she's pretty, latch onto him and he'll support her. Then when she's done with him she can move on to the next guy.

Damn, I should have my own column.

          • Frank, the Best Buy near the mall in Chattanooga has recently been completely overhauled with a new floor layout and displays. You can drop in there and go hands-on with all the possibilities. Lots of geeks running around to answer questions.

I prefer to just plug in using an auxiliary jack instead of bluetooth. With Bluetooth I have to remember to turn it on or off on my phone and so it saves no time over just physically plugging the phone into the aux jack. Maybe if you are someone that leaves bluetooth always on it would be better. We're talking about in a car right?

I do know I love using airplay on my IPad over wifi to stream my spotify to my home receiver unit. That works great. I leave the Ipad upright in the kitchen and can stream the music and control the music from there.
Okay, so I'm a bit behind the times, but my Windows Phone finally has a Spotify app so I checked it out. Wow. You're so right, Spotify is terrific.

The client on my PC is great...and streaming on my phone is very cool as well. Anyone into music who is tired of collecting CDs should check this out.

On a similar note, I got an email from Amazon a few weeks ago saying that just about every album I ever bought from them is now automatically available to me via their cloud player. That's pretty cool, I wish they had the same deal for books, like sending me a Kindle version of every hard copy I've purchased. There are quite a few books I've bought a hard copy of that I haven't had a chance to read yet and now I so prefer reading on my Kindle that I can't see me ever getting back to them! Ugh.

                    • I hate F'n Itunes.

My previous experience with it (having never owned an Apple product) was to install it on my PC to get something I wanted to view - I can't remember what - and it was about the worst navigating experience I've ever had.

Two weeks ago, I bought my boy (almost 5) an Ipad Mini because I think it's a good platform for kids learning and games. That's generally true, so I'm not displeased with it (yet.)

It couldn't play his mp4 videos of Ben 10 Aliens that I loaded for him until I installed a third-party video player, because the native player apparently only plays Apple-approved stuff.

Last year I bought him an el-cheapo Android tablet, and got my money's worth. Had I spent nearly as much on it as I did on this Ipad, I'd have a better comparison. But it was definitely more friendly with any type of file I wanted to play.
The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.

                      • When you download apps to an Android device, it tells you up front that it's free for an intro, $whatever to buy. Not so with Ipad apps. They just say "free" up front, and you have to download it to find out how much it would cost if you like it.

It just seems to be part of the Apple culture.

                        • Itunes is the worst. Agreed.

Try Spotify. You'll never go back. I'd buy stock if I could but it's privately held and they've publicly said they have no desire to go public with it.

                          • Why is it that I can find Ipad apps easier using my browser on my PC than I can using Apple's own store? lol. It seems I've even typed them in by name, and they don't come up.

And really, I know Apple's UIs are designed for retards, but is a "back" button so hard to understand?

                            • Since your corny kegs and their caps usually have a lot of size variation, you may find that some go in / come out easier than others. It's just the nature of it. That CO2 input on the top can sometimes make it harder to "angle in" the cap on a tighter keg top.
